I still wish this show went out on the main itv channel, as the acts would have stood a greater chance of gaining more downloads and exposure.

Yeah, that would have been so good!

It has been such a good show so far though, I am loving it!

Has Blue's album actually charted? I hear it's been released in Europe but can't see any chart positions

The album made #14 in Germany, with the lead single 'Hurt Lovers' reaching #7

In the other countries where the album has been released, the chart peaks are;

Austria #30

Switzerland #31

Italy #72

oooo I forgot the concert went on tonight...silly me.

Anyone who wwent wanna share some pics, videos or their experience...I really wanna know how they did.

Tom Kay and I went to the Hammersmith 'filmed for TV' performance of this and it was great! I can't give too much away as it's all a big secret and the bigwigs at ITV would tell me off for spoiling their storyline arcs but if you have tickets you won't be disappointed! No doubt it's all over Twitter anyway :P
According to Twitter Keith Lemon and AaronTM were there, could have had quite a meet up if we'd known! I did see the Amy Winehouse wannabe that presents Chart Show TV/Bliss etc...but that was the full extent of my celeb spotting!

I was there too. LOVED IT. I ain't too bothered about "spoiling ITV storylines arcs", and there was no suggestion that we couldn't discuss it afterwards - slightly confused about that tbh. The acts were all great, save for Liberty X who really stood out for me as a band who either weren't very good live to begin with, or who needed a LOT more rehearsal time to get back to usual standard. Biggest surprises for me were 911 and Kerry Katona - I expected them both to be rubbish but they danced and sang to the best of their ability and Kerry was a huge hit with the crowd.

I was expecting an embarrassing/trashy/cringey gig but they really pulled out the stops to make sure you were genuinely entertained.

I thought the gig might have been subject to a coverage blackout seeing as it hasn't been aired yet and the whole '5ive need a new member' thing hasn't come to a conclusion, hence why I didn't give too much away. HOWEVER, I've seen loads of stuff about it all over the place today so I'll do a full review on my blog in the next day or two. Needless to say, Jark's spoilered post was true.
Seeing as it's been extensively covered elsewhere I've done a full review of the concert here, packed full of spoilers so don't read it if you're going to the arena tour and want it to be a surprise :P

coolio, they might change a few things up for the arena tour though...as it is going to be a bigger stage and everything :)

Yeah you're probably right, plus they've got three more months to rehearse and change songs/costumes etc...

I read earlier that Blue are trying to get themselves onto the arena tour after enjoying last night so much! I'm almost tempted to go again when it comes to Brighton but it's Eurovision week and I'll be preoccupied!

Your blog was really good. Really wish I had got to go. However I don't wish to see Kerry in a live singing situation.

apparently she was good one of the concerts stand outs apparently there are some videos on youtube of the tide is high and i have to admit i was a bit taken back!

Edited by Rita 4eva!

Just been watching a few clips on youtube! 'Whole Again' sounded EPIC. It's no wonder it was used as the big finale though, isn't it the biggest hit (both UK only and WW) from each of the participating artists back catalogue? I think I've actually warmed to 'Whole Again' (not just a little either!) now, after watching those vids on youtube!

Glad you had a good night though Rich (and Slick)! Your blog was a brilliant read. Have to get tickets for the arena tour now! :drama:

It was definitely an opinion changin performance of Whole Again that they have, really really strong! It works so well live and as a finale type song, it feels much more anthemic! I won't be getting tickets to the arena tour as I've already got far too much on in May (Leona/Eurovision etc...) but everyone who goes will have an a great time!

Just seen this really interesting article about 'the story of Whole Again'

In the 15+ years that I've followed the charts Whole Again going to #1 was by FAR the biggest shock I can recall seeing. I was 13 and in year 9 at school at the time, I'd seen it on the Monday at about #15 in the Woolies chart and thought 'there's no way it's going to get that high after the flop of Follow Me'. There was no buzz around it, no radio support, their fanbase didn't seem interested in buying a ballad by Atomic Kitten and I recall reading a couple of days before that they were all set to be dropped after Kerry had left. I think I found out the mids whilst looking on the internet at school on the Wednesday morning and I literally couldn't believe it, I thought it was a mistake! It seems strange now to look back and think that nobody saw it coming but it was a genuine huge surprise. I still have no idea where they managed to muster up the support to sell over 60k in their first week, how had people even heard the song!? Obviously it grew from there and is one of the 'classics' of this millennium now but it started off so oddly.

Really? Spectrum was the most unexpected #1 of all time in my opinion. :P

#1 was surprising! Four weeks at #1 was astounding. I had a feeling it'd do well compared to their previous singles, but not that well.

I remember liking it when I saw the music video on The Box, enough to ask my mum to buy it for me in its first week. First Atomic Kitten single I wanted. ^_^

I disregarded them before this single, so I was very much only a fan of them with Jenny. However, in hindsight the Kerry era singles were great fun, and I'm liking her being a part of this reunion.

I guess surprising #1's is another thread entirely, but Whole Again is the one that shocked me the most because Atomic Kitten were fading flopstars about to be dropped who turned it around with the fifth single from their smash #39 album, despite barely any media support! Spectrum was obviously a fifth single too but it was Radio 1 a-listed, had a Calvin Harris remix (who's been hot property for the last couple of years) and the original had come from a #1 album so whilst it was a surprise, I wouldn't say it was as shocking for me as looking back it had everything going for it, whereas Whole Again had nothing going for it  Obviously we'll all have our own examples though, in fact Katie Melua and Eva Cassidy's What A Wonderful World is probably more shocking than them both, just because most people probably didn't even know it existed until the midweeks came out that week!

Amotic Kitten

Personal love for the first 4 singles (See Ya, Follow Me, Right Now, I Want Your Love)

"See Ya" is the best Atomic Kitten single  and "Whole Again" (only with Kerry's vocals) is their best song.
