why do you think it bombed? I´m still surprised it wasn´t at least a top 20...maybe candy was still to high on the charts? or was he appearing in too many single songs at the same time(Candy, different-he isn´t heavy), or people decided to buy the album...or simply it´s not a good single? I don´t really know

I think its a combination of all 3 and added to the fact that it got totally lost in the Christmas rush - He should have held off until January as it was a bizzare move to release it in December as the album didn't need a boost and it was always going to struggle to get airplay when it had all the Christmas songs to contend with.

well, maybe if he continues performing it during january, it can improve something, and help keeping the album´s sales
I think it's one of his best singles and in interviews it seems to mean alot to him

I don't thing it's a strong enough song for a single. Now if only him and Gaz had written a semi-decent Christmas song. That would have sold.

When was the last popular Christmas song written btw? I can't think of any after the late 80s

Very pleased with "Different"..............a favourite of the album for me at the moment.

I've only heard Different once on the radio so far :( and that was on radio 2

Candy still being played alot on local radio here

I still think that candy has been such a big hit that it is overshadowing anything else from robbie at the minute. That's not a bad thing as the album is still selling off the back of that single.

Regarding whether it was a good second single choice i think that candy and different are the best songs on the album, along with into the silence as a close third (I do like the bridge in be a boy though).

With the tour in the summer you can expect another album boost and I'm sure we'll see either a single release or a tour edition TTC to drum up sales.

Yeah, Candy is still being played a heck of a lot on local radio up here too.
Different is by far the biggest flop of his career. Very odd seeing as it's a very normal sounding Robbie song. Coming off Candy which has now become the third biggest selling song he has ever released - it's an odd one. I fear this on top of the fact that the album has not performed as well as expected could well lead to an entire album of Candys :o

An entire album of Candy's  :puke2: , that bloomin song has over 27 million hits on YT

I liked Different when I heard it first but after listening many times to the other songs on the album it's a wee bit boring . Different is slowing climbing on YT as the video is directly under Candy & I guess the curiosity factor comes into play when people see it on there, I think they should have stuck the original Come Undone video underneath Candy , that song deserves to be noticed

Different is by far the biggest flop of his career.

Indeed, but the video is one of the bests he has done in years.

I was in the local garden centre coffee shop today with all the other local geriatrics <_< . Candy was played and I could see all these people tapping a foot and generally bopping along. And it did sound really good.
