Not even sure of what sales are right now, but considering it's status as a song, it sure feels like it's a million seller!

Whiter Shade Of Pale

I don't really know the figures but these are some all time favourites that were huge, but AFAIK haven't sold a million...

A-ha - Take On Me

The Archies - Sugar Sugar

Bangles - Eternal Flame

Flying Pickets - Only You

Chumbawumba - Tubthumping

Dario G - Sunchyme

Europe - The Final Countdown

The Fray - How To Save a Life

Michael Andrews feat. Gary Jules - Mad World

Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World

Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger

The Pogues feat. Kirsty Maccoll - Fairytale of New York (This year? :D )

Robert Miles - Children

Tight Fit - The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Take That - Patience

Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag

What's her highest selling song? Anywhere close to a million?

Madonna's Into the Groove with sales of 870,000. Again thanks to Andy on Haven (but no, I don't think he bought the majority of the copies this time...more of a Michael fan than Madonna! :P)

A-ha - Take On Me

Pitbull has sampled this on his new song, so if it's a hit, it will probably boost the sales of the original (and A1's version :kink:), although it won't matter if it's not close to a million anyway lol.

Ed Sheeran - The A Team

I think this'll make a million eventually. Hips Don't Lie probably would've managed it if it had 2009-onwards sales period.

Yeah The A Team only needs about another 30k to get to a million (thanks to Vidcapper for sales info).

Even with trickle sales, that would take forever to get to a million... we need someone to perform it on X Factor, surely it must be Madonna week soon

Seriously though, it's pretty astounding that she's released such iconic singles yet none of them have come close to selling a million copies. I thought at least Vogue or Like A Prayer would have been close.

Didn't realise The A Team was that close to a million :o LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live is another one that felt like a million seller from its sheer staying power in a high sales climate, but then it never peaked higher than #7...

Apparently there were plans to re-release Into the Groove, I think near the release of The Immaculate Collection.

More often than not, it seem the sales climates have been the problem - Hung Up and 4 Minutes were released in low sales climates, so could have sold significantly more if the sales at the time were high. Hung Up could have easily have sold 800k+ minimum.

4 Minutes had a chart run of 7-5-8-4-1-1-1-1-3-3-4-8-etc.

A song with that sort of chart run would sell 800,000+ today.

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars.

Mind you, that should actually become a million-seller before the end of 2013 (I have it on 922k now).

If 4 Minutes would sell 800k, I think Hung Up would have been passed the million mark, especially considering how it's one of Madonna's highest trickle seller.

When this does eventually reach a million, will this be the first non top 5 to do so? As far as I know, Aerosmith and Robbie Williams number 4 hits are currently the lowest ones to achieve the feat.

In another day and age, a song that was #1 for 10 weeks would easily become that year's biggest seller and would not be hard to reach a million copies. But "Umbrella" was released in 2007...
