The fact that they used "Turn Around" in the end credits of The Hangover Part II when they used "Right Round" in the original says it all, it's perfectly enjoyable in the right environment but nothing we haven't heard before. Kudos to him for coming back to have the most consistent campaign of his career though.

When is Diana Vickers coming up? I actually quite liked The Boy Who Murdered Love (and Once as well if truth be told)

That whole Kelly Clarkson era was an abortion. Hated ALL singles and album. Thankfully now she re-found herself.

Florida...how many of those sales were horny teens? Pointless song and artist.

Simply Red ewwww....thoiught of Mick Hucknall having sex would put me off for life.

'My Life Would Suck Without You' is one of my all time favourite songs! 'I Do Not Hook Up' was always the wrong follow up. 'Don't Let Me Stop You', 'If I Can't Have You', 'Long Shot', 'Cry' and 'Already Gone' would have all served better as the follow up!

KELLY HATE NOOO MUST REFRAIN FROM FANGIRL RANT.

I agree with Jonjo though, My Life was the perfect lead single and I adore it still, always have. I Do Not Hook Up is brilliant but wasn't a great choice of single, I think Don't Let Me Stop You, Cry or an earlier release for Already Gone would've been much better too.

I liked My Life Would Suck Without You even if hearing Kelly sing about not hating a guy was a bit bizarre

NEVER BE A RIGHT TIME- PROFESSOR GREEN

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/eb/NeverBeaRightTime.jpg

PEAK POSITION: 35

SALES: 44K

FOLLOW UP TO: READ ALL ABOUT IT

Time to get all “sensitive” with Prof Green after the angst of “Read All About It” but whilst the latter had the bonus of a lifting vocal from Sande this is much more low key and struggled to make much headway. It isn’t a bad song actually but sometimes you can set the bar too high for yourself.

NICE AND SLOW- USHER

We can’t be too harsh on Usher here, this is after all a US No 1 single so he perhaps thought this was a reasonable track to keep his hits flowing. Trouble is that the UK was in 98 only really just coming around to RNB as a chart force, as this is rather standard run of the mill affair, and in the decidedly poptastic atmosphere of the charts in this year (even the big urban hits of the day contained big “pop” hit samples) it was rather mediocre.

NO SUBSTITUTE LOVE- ESTELLE

PEAK POSITION: 30

SALES: 43K

FOLLOW UP TO: AMERICAN BOY

We’ll never know for sure how much media attention Kanye West brought to “American Boy” and how much the tune sold on the strength of itself but it’s clear that without Mr West this struggled in the charts. A mash up essentially of Half Pint’s “Substitute Lover” and George Michael’s “Faith” the song barely made the top 30 and with its summer-esque vibe it should have done quite well in the charts of June 08 but there you go.

MORE TO LIFE- CLIFF RICHARD

PEAK POSITION: 23

SALES: 43K

FOLLOW UP TO: SAVIOUR'S DAY

After the jesus pleasing No 1 “Saviour’s Day” Cliff recorded the theme to a 90s BBC drama “Trainer” about the highs and lows of the horse racing business, from what I can recall it was utter guff, and to be fair Cliff’s effort barely raises itself beyond passable. Little wonder therefore that No 23 was as good as it got for this song but then it was released in September.

MORAL OF THE STORY: CLIFF= CHRISTMAS ONLY

I really like Never Be A Right Time. I've really liked the latest Professor Green period as well, I've liked every song from the album!

Probalby the best UK rapper as well, it's a shame that he doesn't get more recognition because he deserves it. :(

ANYWAY- ARMAND VAN HELDEN

PEAK POSITION: 22

SALES: 42K

FOLLOW UP TO : BONKERS

Ok this is a little bit unfortunate for poor Armand. After getting a joint credit on “Bonkers” his next foray into the charts was as “Armand Van Helden and A-Trak present Duck Sauce” and released this track, of course in reality Duck Sauce were Van Helden and A-Track but in giving himself that credit he makes our list. Duck Sauce of course went on to make the track “Barbra Streisand” a year later.

I’M GOING SLIGHTLY MAD- QUEEN

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/69/Queen_Im_Going_Slightly_Mad.png

PEAK POSITION: 22

SALES: 41K

FOLLOW UP TO: INNUENDO

“Innuendo” was a fortunate No 1 given that it relied on TOTP not being broadcast until Saturday night that week to allow it to enter at the top of the charts by not promoting its main rivals, but no such good fortune for the follow up, the rather quaint “I’m going Slightly Mad”. The video was shot in February 91 just 9 months before Mercury’s death, and when this entered the charts at No 24 it was, at the time, the worst start to a chart run by any act whose previous track had debuted at the top.

MORAL OF THE STORY: YOU CAN’T ALWAYS PLAN ON A GULF WAR.

That one's a little bit tenuous. I wouldn't consider either of those to be primarily Armand Van Helden releases (even though he's the first listed artist on 'aNYway').
"Slightly Mad" such a shame, great song from a good album. Freddie looks so fragile on the video :(

I know. The last few Freddie videos...it just pains me to watch without crying. So sad. RIP the great man.

That Armand Van Helen one - isn't that the Jacksons in that video? Estelle - soooooo underrated
