November 19, 201212 yr lol at roll deep. I've never heard of that Right Said Fred song before, i must have been a baby when it came out. I loved Brimful Of Asha when i was a kid. Edited November 19, 201212 yr by Pablo Escobar
November 19, 201212 yr Nope, it was out the week before the album The style of music Roll Deep were releasing was very popular at the time. Not so much the case now, where they flop with pretty much every release  Joinwithus, is that you?! I just find it weird that happened with "Good Times".....what became of Jodie O'connor?
November 19, 201212 yr Take Control basically sounds like a combination of Good Times and Green Light (and those two songs weren't particularly different in the first place). To be honest though, Roll deep have been around for 10 years now. And they've only had 2 massive chart hits (and some smaller hits, and lots of flops/songs they don't bother trying to make into hits). I don't think they care that much about having lots of hits, I'm sure they make enough money from drug dealing or whatever. I wasn't expecting to see The Flood here! :o Mainly because it never occured to me that it followed a #1.

The one with the top-knot looks like a dealer/pimp :D
November 19, 201212 yr I just find it weird that happened with "Good Times".....what became of Jodie O'connor? Well, it's much poppier than most of their songs (they usually do grime, which is slightly faster, more drums, less singing and more rapping, and more intricate melodies). And also they signed a major record deal in 2009, so they got more promotion for their songs than they usually get. It's the same why Wiley's randomly had a couple of massive hits when his songs usually chart at #150 or whatever, because he signed a new record deal with a major recently. They're constantly releasing amazing tunes though. And they've always been well-known because a lot of rappers from the group like Dizzee, Tinchy, Skepta, Wiley have ended up quite famous with their solo careers. November 19, 201212 yr The Flood was released 3 years after What A Wonderful World was released! ^_^ I thought it was released in 2010? I recall MusicWeek saying Katie Melua's The Flood was the first song called The Flood to chart, and Cheryl and Take That's versions charted within six months of Katie Melua's.

November 19, 201212 yr Jodie Connor had a #14 hit with 'Now Or Never' (feat. Wiley) and a #37 hit with 'Bring It' (feat. Tinchy Stryder) and has faded into obscurity since.

November 19, 201212 yr I believe Katie Melua released in single at the start of 2008 (If The Lights Go Out), which charted at #96, so I believe that should be considered the follow-up to What A Wonderful World. A great thread BTW (if I haven't said it already)!
