July 4, 201311 yr Would have been a sure-fire summer smash if finalised. It's an amazing demo. But even if it was on the album, I doubt it would of been a single. Leona and her label aren't very good at picking singles sadly.

August 14, 201311 yr Only just heard Leonas demo of burn, it sounds incredible even though I'm used to Ellie's version, quite silly that she didn't snap this song up. She let We Found Love go which was number one, and she let this go which is set to be number one this week. It saddens me really cause there's so much potential but her management just waste it. The thing is, she doesn't even seem that bothered any more. :(

October 15, 20204 yr This was released in the UK 8 years ago this week. 8 years though seems like just yesterday!! A bit of an album of two halves for me but the highs are great. I was so sad at how the campaign was so short lived though. The album had so much potential but after Troubles performance the label kinda just gave up. If she pushed Glassheart as a single I really think it could’ve been a big career booster in the way Black Magic was for Little Mix and Say You Won’t Let Go was for James Arthur. Syco really focused way too much in the initial weeks of both Echo and Glassheart era but at least Echo was still a huge success despite that campaign also being short with Glassheart they really should’ve learned from their mistakes and tried to get something out there to keep the campaign going even into 2013 :( Hopefully this will go gold in the UK eventually it’s what she deserves.
October 15, 20204 yr I feel like Leona Lewis' career is one of the biggest travesties in music tbh. She is SUCH an incredible talent she deserved to become one of those huge diva legends like Whitney, Mariah, Celine etc Simon and her record label really f***ed her over in the end. I also canNOT believe they passed up on Burn and We found love wtf, imagine how different her career could have turned out had she released these songs for the second/third album eras!!! Apparently the label also passed up on Halo [beyonce], Stronger (what doesn't kill you) [Kelly Clarkson], Mountains [Emeli Sande] and couldn't get themselves organised to release the All of me duet she recorded with John Legend all of which became huge hits. Apparently they also passed up Impossible which they then gave to James Arthur (I mean I think that song is shit so not bothered but...) She has some real highs in her back catalogue but she also got shifted with some real dire stuff, as I already said she deserved better. Edited October 15, 20204 yr by Spiceboy
October 16, 20204 yr The label messed up big time with Leona, she really should have had a huge long lasting career, i know she did ok with follow up albums but considering how big spirit was, things should have so different. Things went down so quick after her debut and syco hadnt a clue how to reverse it and everything started to become very hit and miss and she lost her sound.
October 16, 20204 yr I don’t know if it was the label or Leona herself (like I always read it was her who wanted Trouble to lead Glassheart) but from Echo onwards she had some strange single choices. Even on Spirit I’d have pushed Take A Bow before releasing Forgive Me but I can’t really be to salty on that as her debut era pushed over 3m sales here. How one artist can end up passing on so many songs what all become massive hits though doesn’t sit right with me. At least with One More Sleep she can manage to chart every year now though but it’s shocking how her career was handled! She really made X Factor what it was at the time proving the show can produce worldwide stars. But then you only have to look at Alexandra and Ella as well to know that after your debut album you’re no longer the priority. Alexandra was likely the main priority in 2009 when Echo dropped and then in 2012 it was probably Little Mix. Little Mix actually had the best managed career from X Factor from the female acts though and definitely the best from the winners.
