Clea - Lucky Like That

Rachel Stevens - I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)

Jem - Wish I

are three examples I can think of.

Do you mean one-hit wonders, or simply acts with a few #1s but no other hits.

I don't have any that fit the 'multiple #1 and no other hits', but I have a few one-hit wonders.

Woodkid ("Run Boy Run" went to #1 in July 2012 - no other hits)

WU LYF ("We Bros" went to #1 in November 2011 - no other hits)

Gang Gang Dance ("MindKilla" went to #1 in May 2011 - no other hits)

.. but the above are all because they haven't released a follow-up yet.

Sheelah! Two #1's with Psycho and The Last Time and nothing else, I miss them  Because I chart album tracks, b-sides and anything else, no other acts have really managed more than one chart topper and nothing else at all.

I don't loon over artists enough to just put every single track of theirs at no. 1 - no artist is THAT incredible.

However, the following are genuine one hit wonders (to date, although the early chart toppers are guaranteed to remain that way)

JJ - Wait For The Lover (1 week) (11/12/04)

JJ was mod of the dance forum on Cool Clarity and was renowned for his mash ups. My chart wasn't exactly taken seriously back then. :D JJ never had a second hit in my chart and, eight years later, is very unlikely to score a second.

JonHawk - Collide (1 week) (16/07/05)

Again, related to Cool Clarity. I hosted CC Idol on Cool Clarity in the summer of 2005 and JonHawk was crowned winner of the competition. 'Collide' was his "winner's single" and thus a fair few posters put it no. 1 in their charts to get JonHawk into the Multichart at the time. :D

Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) (1 week) (21/01/06)

An absolute 80s gem which recharted thanks to Pete Burns appearing in Celebrity Big Brother. It made #1 in my chart but after the hype died down, so did the hits and Dead Or Alive never scored another hit in my entire top 40.

Marit Larsen - If A Song Could Get Me You (2 weeks) (03/10/09 = 10/10/09)

This song became a big hit for me following its success in central Europe - it was at least a year after it first charted in Norway when the track passed me by completely. By October 2009, I absolutely adored this song. Marit has yet to have a successful follow up make my top 40.

Stromae - Alors On Danse (4 weeks) (24/04/10 = 15/05/10)

A bonafide one hit wonder if ever there was one. Stromae did release more singles in Belguim but none had anywhere near the same level of impact as 'Alors On Danse' did. This remains his only hit in my chart...but what a hit. *.*

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix) (1 week) (01/10/11)

After several months of doing well across Europe, I finally decided to check out 'I Follow Rivers'. I had only heard the original version which I thought was ok but nothing spectacular. Then I stumbled across The Magician Remix and the rest is history. It's the only track I've charted by Lykke Li so whether this changes is left to be seen.

Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks (2 weeks) (18/08/12 = 25/08/12)

Was entered into BJSJ in late 2011 where the track made zero impact on me. Once the track started to generate interest across Europe leading 'Little Talks' becoming a big hit in several other countries, I found myself becoming more interested in the track again. Despite entering at no. 40, it topped my chart 5 weeks later. 'Mountain Sound' got close to making my top 40 last week but just missed the cut. Could chart this week but even if it does, I can't imagine it'll become a huge hit for me.

PSY - Gangnam Style (3 weeks) (22/09/12 = 06/10/12)

The very best novelty acts have that one hit that everyone remembers. Then they ruin it all by releasing a sub standard follow up. Whether PSY goes on to score more hits is left to be seen. Until then, 'Gangnam Style' remains a glorified one hit wonder in my chart.

...and finally the BJSC effect

Agnes Obel - Riverside (4 weeks) (23/04/11 = 14/05/11)

Azealia Banks - 212 (1 week) (31/12/11)

Studio Killers - Ode To The Bouncer (2 weeks) (18/02/12 = 25/02/12)

Prance Faris - Flares (2 weeks) (03/03/12 = 10/03/12)

Woodkid - Run Boy Run (2 weeks) (30/06/12 = 07/07/12)

Still Corners - Fireflies (2 weeks) (03/11/12 = 10/11/12)

All songs that made my chart following being entered BJSC - two of which were my own entries (Agnes Obel and Studio Killers) but all acts listed remain one hit wonders at the moment.

The REAL OWNERS of the 'jj' name (the swedish band) DO NOT APPROVE.

It's raining, Bro! Hallelujah. It's raining, dude!

Here are my One-Hit Wonders! (ripping off the hitstastic style here :kink:)

Helping Haiti - Everybody Hurts (2 weeks) (15/02/10 - 22/02/10)

A great song recorded for charity here, however the group have never recorded anything else together so they will remain a 1HW

K'naan "Wavin' Flag (Coca-Cola Celebration Mix)" (2 weeks) (21/06/10 - 28/06/10)

This unofficial football song was all over the radio at the time and I was really into it. Unfortunately I have not been interested in any of his follow-up singles, neither was the UK.

Caspa "Back For The First Time" (1 week) (30/08/10)

A nice dubstep instrumental song here which became my first #1 ever with dubstep influences. It went top 50 in the UK but none of his other songs got radio 1 support, and went unnoticed from me.

Willow Smith "Whip My Hair" (1 week) (08/11/10)

You have to admit this is really catchy. I went through a stage of loving this then a stage of hating it. Now I think it's alright, it sounds good at a party I guess.

Gotye feat. Kimbra "Somebody That I Used To Know" (3 weeks) (13/02/12 - 27/02/12)

A really good song here, it's a shame that neither Gotye or Kimbra has come back with anything noteworthy.

Laurentiu Duta feat. Andreea Banica "Shining Heart" (1 week) (18/06/12)

This song I entered into the Buzzjack Song Contest and qualified with. Andreea Banica would have a top 10 hit in the future (Could U, which I also entered into BJSC) however Laurentiu hasn't had a 2nd hit

Cedric Gervais "Molly" (1 week) (31/07/12)

This fun song with a female computer singing about her friend Molly was a big hit with me. Cedric has not released a follow up yet but I don't imagine him getting another big hit.

Porter Robinson "Language" (6 weeks) (06/08/12 - 20/08/12 and 03/09/12 - 17/09/12)

I think Porter will have his one hit wonder status removed soon when he releases a follow up. But if Language is his only hit with me then what a hit it was!

PSY "Gangnam Style" (3 weeks) (24/09/12 - 08/10/12)

If his follow up gets noticed then he can be removed from this list. I want another excellent song from PSY in 2013

Julio Bashmore "Au Seve" (5 weeks) (22/10/12 - 19/11/12)

My current number one from newcomer Julio Bashmore is this. Hopefully he'll release something else in the near future.

And here are some artists that could've joined the list but ruined it with a really minor hit

Joe McElderry - The Climb (Ambitions ruined it by spending 2 weeks in the lower reigons of my chart)

Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano (A remix they did of another song titled 'Sing Sing Sing' spent a week in my top 10)

Far East Movement - Like A G6 (A song they did with Roger Sanchez spent a week in my chart, however their UK hits 'Rocketeer', 'Live My Life' and 'Turn Up The Love' did not make my chart)

Christina Perri - Jar Of Hearts (A Thousand Years spent a few weeks in my chart)

Emma Hewitt - Colours (Her follow up Miss You Paradise spent a few weeks in my chart)

Nelly Furtado - Big Hoops {Bigger the Better} (her song with Timbaland and SoShy spent a few weeks in my chart at the start of 2010)

well, technically speaking I can only think of a few acts act that have had "official" number ones and nothing else - they are all 60's acts who have had "revived success" as reissues/reentries but who all charted before I started my charts: Mamas & The Papas being one (3 number ones), and Sonny & Cher being the other (2 number ones), but they would have had (and still may have) other hits...

An impressive five:

Clint Boon Experience:

#1. Comet Theme Number One (4 weeks)

#1. You Can't Keep A Good Man Down (2 weeks)

#1. White No Sugar (4 weeks)

#1. The Biggest Horizon (3 weeks)

#1. Do What You Do (The Earworm Song) (3 weeks)

Two #1s:

Detroit Spinners

#1. Working My Way Back To Yo

#1. Cupid

Two #1s:

Fairground Attraction

#1. Perfect

#1. Find My Love

Clint Boon had some hits with Inspiral Carpets too that didn't get to #1 (as well as two that got to #1 for them too).

So far in the 2010s there have been no artists that have had more than one #1 (although some had #1s in previous decades).

Elliphant - Down On Life [8-1-1-1-3-4-5-8-9-11-14-17]

Because everything else she's made REALLY isn't that chart-worthy.

Devlin

Rewind (feat. Diane Birch) - 1-2-4-4-6-9-14-26-X (8 weeks)

Ronan Parke

We Are Shooting Stars - 10-3-1-2-3-6-9-12-18-24-28-30-X (12 weeks)

The Chainsmokers

Erase (feat. Priyanka Chopra) - 7-1-4-12-18-26-33-X (7 weeks)

Not expecting Devlin or The Chainsmokers to get another hit on my chart but it's entirely possible for the tag to be removed for Ronan.

Here's an update. I will only include artists who have at least one #1 as a lead artist and who have had no other top 50 hits aside from #1s. So for example Not A Saint by Vato Gonzales ft Lethal Bizzle & Donae'O will not count even though Donae'O has not had another hit. Since my last update Porter Robinson has had a #11 hit with "Easy", so he is removed from the list. Also Cedric Gervais has scored a #45 hit with "Molly" by Tyga ft Cedric Gervais, Wiz Khalifa & Mally Mall (believe it or not, the song samples Cedric's "Molly") so he is removed from the list.

Helping Haiti - Everybody Hurts (2 weeks) (15/02/10 - 22/02/10)

K'naan "Wavin' Flag (Coca-Cola Celebration Mix)" (2 weeks) (21/06/10 - 28/06/10)

Caspa "Back For The First Time" (1 week) (30/08/10)

Willow Smith "Whip My Hair" (1 week) (08/11/10)

Gotye feat. Kimbra "Somebody That I Used To Know" (3 weeks) (13/02/12 - 27/02/12)

Laurentiu Duta feat. Andreea Banica "Shining Heart" (1 week) (18/06/12)

PSY "Gangnam Style" (3 weeks) (24/09/12 - 08/10/12) + PSY "Gentleman" (1 week) (15/04/13)

Julio Bashmore "Au Seve" (5 weeks) (22/10/12 - 19/11/12)

Baauer "Harlem Shake" (2 weeks) (18/02/13 - 25/02/13)

Michael Woods "Platinum Chains" (2 weeks) (25/03/13 - 01/04/13)

Duke Dumont feat. A*M*E "Need U (100%)" (1 week) (08/04/13)

Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams "Get Lucky" (1 week) (22/04/13)

*NOTE - Andreea Banica and Pharrell Williams have scored other hits.

I'm surprised Michael Woods hadn't scored a chart hit until Platinum Chains. I do like quite a few of his songs but clearly none of them made a big enough splash, not even We've Only Just Begun :o Duke Dumont and Daft Punk will probably leave this list very soon unless their next singles are super amazing.

Girls Can't Catch (Echo)

Sabrina Washington (OMG)

Crystal Bowersox (Up To The Mountain)

Nadine Coyle (Insatiable)

Gotye & Kimbra (Somebody That I Used To Know - Kimbra has had other hits, but not Gotye!

James Arthur (Impossible)

Janet Leon (Heartstrings)

I could easily see James Arthur (he definitely will, very likely anyway :P) and Nadine breaking out (if the latter's second album she's apparently working on materialises), as well Janet Leon when she inevitably returns to Melodifestivalen in a year or two with a Euphoria moment (wishful thinking but yeah).

If I only count singles (all of the above had no other hits regardless though), The Saturdays almost do this! Since my chart started and they claimed my first #1 with Ego, all of their singles except Notorious (#3) have hit #1, as did Faster as an album track.

Since the current incarnation of my chart started the only artist to have done this other than features is Nelly Furtado, who had no other hits besides the #1 'Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)'.
  • 5 weeks later...

All four Robert Miles entries in my chart hit #1 (and he hasn't charted with anything else)

1996 #1 Children

1996 #1 Fable

1996 #1 One & one

1998 #1 Freedom
