Tamar Braxton "Love and War" to #90.

A great R&B song that's just recently exploded on US itunes and is charting in the UK and worldwide now (due to Lady Gaga tweeting about it). For any R&B fans here, you'll love it! :)

Tamar is related to Toni, stars on a US reality TV show atm, has a good song, and has had quite a hype train for the past week or so, which is why she's in the UK top 100 atm. Her management are very experienced in hyping people out of nowhere and into the charts in a short period of time.

Extremely dull release week, the only new releases that have a chance of doing anything really are Pitbull and Tulisa.

I STILL don't know what you're on about. And neither do 99.999% of the general public.

Including me.

What are the chances of Gabrielle being #1 officially now?

Well I've been holding off buying it earlier in the week in case she needed extra help later - and it looks like now is the time!

She's still #1 on Amazon though, and hopefully her lead there will be enough to offset Mars's iTunes advantage...

This is going to be huge :D

All they have to do now is perform it.

That Power Of Love cover is absolubtely horrendous. I was charmed by the other John Lewis covers (even Your Song) but this has the emotion of a doorknob.

Like Gotye, another rancid one hit wonder with year, I hope she's never heard of again. :smoke:

BASICALLY. When GaGa was still relatively unknown (perhaps "Just Dance"/the video had been released) Xtina was asked about Lady GaGa (perhaps implying "Bionic" was copying her) and she said she wasn't sure who it was or if it was a man or a woman. Now all the GaGa stans act like that's why she's flopping.

This guy is implying that by not knowing who Tamar Braxton is, you'll suffer the same 'curse'.

It doesn't really matter though, does it? One sale in this sales week is one sale in this sales week, doesn't matter if it's Sunday or Friday...

Yes, but just think of the look on the faces of Bruno Mars fans if he's 1 copy short of #1... :P

94. Take Five - Dave Brubeck

I can't say I've ever consciously heard of him but R.I.P.

:o Type it into youtune youll instantly know the jazz classic he made - absolutely brillant!

lol. That's ridiculous. EVERYBODY didn't know if she was a man or a woman because she was pretending to be a hermaphrodite at the time to get more media attention. Millions of people were asking that question at the time, they're stupid to single out Christina.

Christina was more successful at her peak than Lady Gaga could ever dream of being. And Bionic didn't do as well because the lead single, Not Myself Tonight is a boring and incredibly generic song (not to mention a Timbaland rip-off), and Christina left too long a gap between albums, and ended up getting overshadowed by Gwen, Rihanna, Nelly, Fergie, etc. in 2007 during the female pop star boom that year.

She's still #1 on Amazon though, and hopefully her lead there will be enough to offset Mars's iTunes advantage...

Given how tiny Amazon's market share is, she'd probably have to be outselling Bruno something like 20 to 1 for that to be the case. (I think her #1 is still fairly safe though anyway).

 62 Chris Rea/ Driving Home For Christmas Thought this would be a bit higher up than it is.

When do people expect the Xmas effect to end?

Well, usually Dec 25th...

I wonder how big of an impact will Capital Jingle Bell Ball have this week-end !

Will it be shown on Capital TV ?

Go Wizzard :cheer: What was their official peak last year, low top 30? Looks like they might at least match it this year!

I just wish we *knew* the relative market shares for the main sites!

In any case, her Amazon sales don't have to completely offset iTunes - they just need to be *enough* to hold on for another 33 hours...

#28 and they peaked on the equivalent of this week so they're probably gonna have to do it this week if they're gonna do it at all. I think they have a good chance, #31 on Friday mids and top 20 on iTunes! :D

Slade are less likely to beat their 2011 peak of #33 but still possible, at least they have another top 40 'season' in the bag.

Have people gone mad? The likelihood of Bruno Mars reaching #1 officially now are very slim.

The top three still stands at:

01 Gabrielle Aplin

02 Olly Murs

03 Bruno Mars

Despite being #1 on iTunes, Mars still has to officially climb above Murs; and even that might not happen - depends on how well the two versions of "Troublemaker" sold at the beginning of the week.

All-in-all, it's almost certainly going to be "The Power of Love" at number-one come Sunday. Next week we're treated to the X-Factor charity single and "Scream & Shout"; the former of which is a very likely #1, the latter a big-selling top 5 hit (I'm predicting).
