---Tyler---

is leaving later this year.

FINALLY. THANK GOD. Hopefully

--Whitney--

will get some better storylines now.

I really like the new Peter and not just on a shallow level (still mourning Thomas Law in that respect but this one will certainly do.) I didn't want him to come back and for his character to have drastically changed and fortunately that doesn't seem to have happened, except he now appears to be a bit of a player. He also seems to be able to convincingly deliver his lines, which is one better than the last bit of "eye candy" EastEnders introduced (Joey.)

Two new characters for July were announced recently: Betty (Tessa Wyatt),

a new dance partner for Patrick, causing rivalry between her and Cora

and Ollie (Tony O'Callaghan),

a love interest for Jean.

I've been catching up on Eastenders from the beginning of May and am now up to 13 June. I'm not sure whether it's because I've been watching it continually, like 3-5 episodes a day, but I've actually been enjoying it, especially the Lauren's alcohol problem storyline. It seems to be actually getting somewhere rather than just Lauren getting p*ssed in the Vic. I also agree than the actress who plays Lauren is really good, obviously not fantastic, but definitely decent enough and the best out of the younger cast (significantly more so than Abi - can she just leave, ffs!).
New character spoiler!

Cindy Beale's daughter, Cindy Junior (played by Mimi Keene) is arriving in August. This is the child Ian's ex-wife Cindy gave birth to just before she died during labour.

I was excited the name of the character, but then I realised she'd be around about Abi's age or younger, just as all of the young cast were almost all over 18 as well, we don't need anyone younger than that.

Oh she really looks like Lauren (except not as beautiful).

It's on the front of this week's TV Guide though, that Tanya tries to take Lauren with her when she leaves! :o I hope to god she doesn't leave!

Pictures can be seen on Digital Spy: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/easte...in-walford.html

Does anyone else think she looks more like Lauren's sister rather than

Cindy's daughter?

She's quite fit but she's probably 15-17 years old :( , if she has an older sister though :D, just kidding

Jamie Lomas who was in Dream Team and Hollyoaks is going to appear in Eastenders soon

Quite a - perhaps unintentionally - funny scene at the end with Carl and Ian, with Ian calling Bianca his "niece" when that was in fact Derek's connection to her!

Love to see the return of Kat's red hair!

Another good episode ruined by the horrendously atrocious Abi

EXACTLY what I thought! Her flipping out at Alfie and whatever Masood's brother is called was embarrassing to watch! I could understand why she did so, but the way is was done was painful to watch. Then suddenly she is fine when she starts getting attention from her friends.

I downloaded the omnibus of last week's episodes from iPlayer. Are they worth watching, though? All I want to see is more action from the Lauren storyline, because it's the best thing the show has going for itself right now. :P

Last week (+ Monday) was pretty bad. I've honestly never known EE so relentlessly shit. I'm close to giving up actually. Emmerdale dumps all over it.

It was almost 10 years ago that EE went through 4 years of being rather shit so perhaps after a strong few years it is going crap again. This seems to happen quite frequently. I mean I'm very bored with most of the storylines right now and it wouldn't suprise me if it ends in 5-10 years time :(

Really? :( I might not bother watching then... It was last Friday that Tanya left, yes, or is it this Friday?

Nah, I can't see the show ending. I know its been crap in recent times but when it comes to awards and stuff, it is still very popular. Besides, like you say, it goes though very good periods and then bad ones, so it will pick up again...I hope! :P

This Friday. This week is being advertised as a big week for the Brannings on BBC. Also, I'd recommend watching last week's, but just for the Lauren scenes - anything other than that is totally pointless as per!
