She's a BRILLIANT actress, shame they've done nothing with her since Heather's death storyline ended. Hopefully she'll be one of the main characters over the next couple of months!

I said that Johnny was going to be

gay

a while ago in this thread but it has been confirmed today and from what i have read about this storyline it is refreshing that we are going to get such a good gay character on our screens again!

Although I hope he dosnt string Whitney along! I love Whitney and dont want to see her get hurt!

We need another story between Shirley and Phil to erupt.

Watch at christmas! The fact that now Mick has the vic and Phil dosnt know that Mick and Shirley are related just wait till he finds out....and there is also the fact that

Sharon is going to bed Phil AGAIN!

and i cant see Shirley being too happy about that!

Again? Ugggh all she does is pout and wink. I think David has been taking some lessons from her too...

I want Shirley back with Phil and Sharon and he Brat to go and live somewhere far away.

Sharon and he Brat to go and live somewhere far away.

That really does need to happen. From what I've seen of the show in the past weeks she's incredibly irritating, although she must be doing something right if I hate her so much. :P

re. Dean, aww that story with Johnny sounds so interesting! Will definitely be watching that.

That episode was great tonight! lol at Ian actually going to be proposing to Denise though

I couldn't help but feel Alfie and Kat had never been separated though and the whole story with Roxy was NON-EXISTENT.

It SHOULD'VE been non-existant, Calum, I agree. Just about anyone who cares about Eastenders wants Kat & Alfie to be together - I don't know why the writers have seem set on trying to give them troubles. They could have that Vera/Jack type relationship if played well - I think the public would actually be behind that.
I have to agree the Roxy and Alfie era seems like a did it ever happen moment, the chemistry is simply there between kat and alfie and they do work as a couple, i do agree they should take the in the route of people like Jack and Vera from Corrie, they can stil have central rolls but they should never be separated.

Well that was by far the best episode of the soaps tonight! So much that the spoilers and advert didn't give away; really enjoyed it!

Janine's attempt to get away reminded me of when the police were after her for the death of Laura back in 2004, and I think that's what the writers were meaning to refer to due to the ending being Janine shaking in the back of a police car - just like 2004.

Well, I thought that episode had everything, it was fast paced, great acting from Janine at her best. I really thought David was a goner, as they usually kill someone off, but for some reason with them killing Michael off not so long it wouldn't go down that route too quick.

That Danny character looks interesting, it be great seeing the Carters getting developed more in the series, as Shirley was looking like a spare part going nowhere not so long ago.

The TV ratings will be interesting with Eastenders clashing with Downton Abbey (and Corrie if people watched it on +1) and Corrie clashing with Doctor Who.
That episode was absolutely fantastic! Charlie Brooks is honestly such a fantastic actress. All of it had me hooked, and although the Janine / David scenario dragged out longer than it needed to, that ending was simply stunning. So emotional too. DEFINITELY going to be watching this all the time now!
Superb tonight - both the main 2 soaps were, for different reasons imo. The drama tonight was incredible, largely thanks to being left in the hands of some incredibly talented actors/actresses: Charlie Brooks, Michael French, Lindsey Coulson and Patsy Palmer. All so good at really accelerating the drama and putting on a performance. It's been a relatively weak year for Eastenders but they're definitely back on track and Christmas Day was definitely a success this year!

Stunningly good episode. I really expected (and hoped) Janine would get away right until the final moments. Charlie was BEYOND in the police car and when confessing to David about her guilt etc. David is a great character too but a really awful person. Possibly worse than Janine. There is no good in him.

Kat's pregnancy twist was really lovely, moving even. I'm actually glad now that she and Alfie were reunited. And how great to have the Slater clan back together!

Bianca was also on top tonight. The food fight was classic.

YAAAASSSS EASTENDERS!

It made me laugh how Alfie and Roxy had been trying for a baby for months yet after a few weeks of being back together, he managed it with Kat. :P
