I must admit that episode was rather good, glad the Carl storyline is over. Judging by that episode AJ and Kirsty are next to leave the soap, its just a matter of weeks now. And I'm not really keen on Nancy, the Carters daughter, I wonder if their other son Lee will turn up at some point.
I'm glad the axed characters are all leaving in a fairly quick succession! Tonight's episode was fantastic; Sam Womack gave an amazing performance!
I really don't want Kirsty to leave. :( Hopefully she actually gets a good send-off and doesn't just pack it in because she can't get any work and there's nothing left for her there any more (as is the normal now for soap exits :/).

They obviously haven't cast him yet as we never got to see or hear the skype call :(

As for the axed characters, I am genuinely sad to see them go.

AJ should have got with Kim, they could have some right comical story-lines together.

I was really enjoying Kirsty develop as a step mum and I thought Eastenders could have had some fun with that side of Kirsty.

I take it Poppy is the final character to leave? I really like Poppy but she was given crappy story lines. I would have loved to have seen her and Fat Boy get married

I take it him kissing Denise again will be her reason to leave, which tbh is kinda crappy... :(

I don't think Ronnie will ever be found out as the murderer. Carl Coonan's crushed bones will never be found in that mashed up car.
All the exits so far have been pretty weak and from the spoilers i have read the upcoming departures are also weak. I think with 6 characters going they missed a big opportunity to have a disaster hit the square and it would have also grabbed the audiences attention again to attract some viewers that have stopped watching.
That would have been amazing! An explosion in the pub could have ensured they all had fab exits, they all went together, and the place would get the refurbishment Linda keeps harping on about.
Exactly and then the Carters could have been introduced as in buying a pub that needs doing up. I really feel the exits could have been used more to the shows advantage.

An explosion in the pub happened once before, and it was quite recent upstairs got refurbished, I don't think they would have gone down that route so quick. Maybe a train explosion where the bridge is, and the bridge comes tumbling down on them. :P

I doubt the producers of Eastenders would spend so much money on a disaster just for several non-exciting characters. :P

Last night's episode  I'm personally loving Nancy and I agree with people saying The Carters are exactly what Eastenders needed. Much needed humour!

"I like Whitney..."

"Of course you do, I've seen you dancing to her when you think nobody's looking."

Don't like how quickly they've just blurted out about Johnny's sexuality though - realistically, it wouldn't just "happen" to come out within a week of moving to a new place. As much as they're a new family to the Square, the handling of that situation is almost like they're just a new family altogether.

Just watched last night's episode on iPlayer and it was fantastic! Loved how Johnny's finally come out - the ending was amazing! Looking forward to the aftermath tonight. Gonna be good.

Digital Spy poll (who is your favourite Carter?):

Mick - 42.63%

Johnny - 29.51%

Tina - 13.83%

Nancy - 7.95%

Linda - 6.08%

Do you agree? I do love Mick myself, he's really quite funny. It doesn't seem forced or anything, and he seems like a genuinely nice man and character. Johnny and Tina are my favourites though, such good characters! I'd probably rank them:

01 / Tina

02 / Johnny

03 / Mick

04 / Nancy (I do think she's a great character but the other three are better so far!)

05 / Linda

I really like them all, except Linda. She is just really irritating me so far. Mick is a good character, very funny and does the whole 'normal guy' thing better than say Alfie or bloody Terry. I think he's my favourite, Johnny is great too and he's beautiful obv.

I really liked that last 10 minutes, I don't think I've ever seen a soap tackle a gay storyline like that but that was fantastically written and performed by both actors!

As for that poll, does Shirley no longer count as a Carter? :P

Aw that scene was amazing  acted brilliantly by both, especially Sam Strike. Makes me love Mick even more too <3
Wow, those last 10 minutes of the episode really hit me. Shirley talking to Johnny was stunning and I nearly broke down watching it, but the conversation between Johnny and Mick was just fabulous. Dealt with so carefully. Props to both Sam and Danny for pulling it off as well as they did! Amazing scenes. Looking forward to how it plays out in future episodes given Linda's reaction at the end.
It really brought back all the feelings for me too! Like Liam said, I don't recall a soap tackling it this well, not with such a young(ish) character.
