1 - James = 100

2 - The Justice Collective = 40.62

Hopefully James can hang on - what with yesterdays sales as well he must have a pretty good lead on TVC track

Wow, Justice Collective not doing as well as I'd expected, thought it would be #1 easily by now but not even up to half of James' total yet and a day's sales behind. It will need incredible physical sales to get past him, looks like it might be another X Factor Xmas #1!

It's been a long time since the Xmas #1 has been a non-mover/song which wasn't available before Xmas week (excluding RATM who climbed from #80 because of the campaign), wasn't the last Band Aid in 2004, pretty sure that was released a few weeks before Xmas...

I feel cruel for saying this, but when I saw Justice Collective stuck outside the top 20 I was hoping it would stay there.

I really wish for things like this that people actually donate directly to the cause itself.

I'm not saying the cause that the Hillsborough record is supporting is not worthy, I'm just saying I'd rather support terminally ill children than family members of victims of Hillsborough disaster.

Well said Silver Rocket ^^^, the mega-publicity that the disaster has had has been great for the victims and it's nice to see them finally getting the truth etc. but we don't need a terrible song at Xmas #1 because of it. Similar situation with Military Wives this time last year.

Without wanting to get into a big charity debate - I completely agree with you... however on the subject in general I cant see why if people want to donate to the charity so much they can just donate without buying a cover of an old song.

This is what I've always thought. It's like 'Movember', I didn't grow a moustache because 1. I would look like absolutely ridiculous, and 2. I'd rather (and did) just give a donation straight to the prostate cancer charity.

Now the number 2 is at - 0.5937500000

They will be number 1 today...

At the VERY LEAST there is SOME element of uncertainty surrounding the Festive No 1 this year which can only be a good thing....
TJC will be #1 by this evening, still a terrible decision to not release it yesterday though.

I would rather see Impossible for a second week I'm just tired of 1 week at #1, but I'm just not sure how well James's sales will hold up, I should imagine 300k, which should give him like a 40% drop, but I do think the Justice Collective can easily beat 300k. I can't see the JC track selling over 500k at all. At the most I reckon 400k to 450k at the moment.

Also James now has a full week of physical sales instead of 4 days, and he sold 86,795 physically, so I think he could sell more physically this week, or roughly the same.

Surprising morning at work! 4 copies of TJC Cd single sold compared to 30+ for James!

I tried checking how much MW sold physically last xmas but it wasnt given in the report.

^^Thats 30 people who've been ripped off for 4 quid then!!

I just went to buy JC at my local HMV and they have sold out so looks like ill be buying my copy online.
These mixed sales reports are annoying - who knows how much its selling physically lol - seems to be underperforming overall though...
Meh, i'm just going to come out and say it, The Justice Collective is shite. Full of a bunch of d-list hasbeens who cant get a hit by themselves doing a piss-poor version all in the name of charity, as usual. Some of the people on the track are worth millions why don't they do the decent thing and donate themselves if they care so much? Its not even for a decent cause...will it help cure cancer? save a child? help a solider? No for families of a disaster for YEARS ago which probably have more than enough help anyway
