Meh, i'm just going to come out and say it, The Justice Collective is shite. Full of a bunch of d-list hasbeens who cant get a hit by themselves doing a piss-poor version all in the name of charity, as usual. Some of the people on the track are worth millions why don't they do the decent thing and donate themselves if they care so much? Its not even for a decent cause...will it help cure cancer? save a child? help a solider? No for families of a disaster for YEARS ago which probably have more than enough help anyway

Wish you wouldn't hold back on us :P

Well a lot of the artists that are on it are so because they are from Liverpool (like Melanie c) which to me is better than having big stars on it for the sake of it.

WHATEVER. I've just quoted your nice comment in the Hillsborough thread, don't you realise how much these people have been through?

(I don't want to get into an argument, but it really upsets me when I see comments like this)

Well whether it cures cancer or not, it is still going to a much better cause than 98 of the other songs in the top 100

Comments like that knock me sick, If it was one of your family that was effected am sure you'll see it alot different.

I would rather see Impossible for a second week I'm just tired of 1 week at #1, but I'm just not sure how well James's sales will hold up, I should imagine 300k, which should give him like a 40% drop, but I do think the Justice Collective can easily beat 300k. I can't see the JC track selling over 500k at all. At the most I reckon 400k to 450k at the moment.

Also James now has a full week of physical sales instead of 4 days, and he sold 86,795 physically, so I think he could sell more physically this week, or roughly the same.

I'd be surprised if he sold over 50k physically, and 200k overall, this week.

I just went to buy JC at my local HMV and they have sold out so looks like ill be buying my copy online.

Our HMV still has plenty - and even more unsold copies of 'Impossible'...

Whilst I dont completely agree with your view, the bolded bit I certainly do agree with. Instead of inflicting us with a sh!te cover of a song over christmas, they could just donate a large sum of money each to the victims families - would probably raise more money that way as well.

But overall, I just wish we could have something other than the XF song of the year + a charity single in contention for the XMas top spot.

Once again can we :please: not go :offtopic: thanks. There are threads in the lounge if you wish to discuss the merits, or lack of, for the Justice Collective single.

Let's try to keep in the Christmas spirit and not offend each other- just for this week! :D

Who the hell is The Justice Collective, and why have the overtook Scream and Shout!
I didn't really think we were deviating considering what usually gets discussed in this thread :D

Clearly it's a rather emotive issue over which charity is best to support. Granted the i-tunes thread has more scope to deviate than most threads but when members can't seem to express their opinions without a large dollop of vitriol in them then arguments are bound to flair! :o

Why is the justice song being released in the race for Xmas number 1 rather than on the anniversary of the disaster as that would probably make more sence.

Wouldn't be surprised if next year's Justice Collective single will be a tribute to those who died in the 1988 Lockerbie plane crash, marking the 25th anniversary.

Indeed they'll be going further and further back each year until they get to the touching fundraiser for survivors and relatives of the 1066 Battle of Hastings...

Sorry! When you feel passionate about a subject, it's hard to not argue with someone. :P

Dear oh dear- does this thread have to be closed? Your choice people!
Some of the comments in this thread. Wow. That's all I have to say on the matter.

I think people are being too sensitive about the subject. Everyone is allowed an opinion on it. It's not like somebody is saying they're glad the disaster happened - they're saying the song sounds shit and that the money could go to a more crucial cause (which is all down to personal opinion). I honestly think some people feel like they HAVE TO think a certain way. The truth is that some people aren't afraid of sharing their opinion which isn't malicious or anything of the like. I'm sure loads of people (on here and in the real world) think the same but are afraid to admit it.

I personally wish the charity singles could be pushed back to any other time of year. Christmas songs should be on top at Xmas - or at least good songs in general.

And there are WAYS of making that point- that is my point. Now moving on.........

The point of a charity single, cake sales, book sale ect is people get something for their donation to a charity. Whilst in a perfect world everyone would give what they could afford (be that 10 quid or 10 million depending on income) to charity and expect nothing in return, we don't live in a perfect world. So whilst you may say 'why don't those millionaire singers donate money for nothing' to which you assume they can afford, you should also say 'why don't those average families donate 10 quid for nothing' to which they can afford also.

A charity single is a 2 way thing, without the public feeling they are getting something for their money they wouldn't be donating and they wouldn't be getting something for their money if it wasn't for the artists who have made the single.

 8. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble. (had dropped to #9)

 35. Emeli Sandé - Clown (could get another week top 40 if it holds up?)

42. Girls Aloud - Something New (fantastic to see this recover a bit, its chart run so far is catastrophic for such a good song)
