January 2, 201312 yr OOOH Danny so close to top 20 :( Great chart though, I knew you were a Good Time fan but didn't realise you loved it quite as much as for it to be #02 in your Year End! Fab track. Very good Top 10, it wows me just how much you love your BJSC entries, wish I could with mine, for some reason when BJSC is over (The Mother We Share aside), I just seem to stop listening to my entries. Very dancey Top 10 though, I approve!

Very dancey Top 10 though, I approve! He was in the top 20 until I realised that I'd forgotten to include Agnes' One Last Time and everything was pushed down a place! Yeah I adore it, aside from Euphoria it had the most consistent chart run of the year too, along with Don't Go which hung around for an age despite only getting a week at #1. Glad you approve of the top ten! As for my BJSC entries, the secret to continued love is to not specifically search out something to send (that you're likely to get bored of after), I generally just pluck tracks out of my chart that I'm already loving, hence there's not often that big a 'wear-off' factor after the contest! This isn't the case for all of my entries though, Fireflies and Million Dollar Signs were very much 'quick I need to choose something' type entries, and hence finish quite a bit lower here than most of the others. It's been an incredible year for dance, I hope 2013 is just as good as dance was my first true love so it's great to see the genre back in force!
January 2, 201312 yr Fantastic EOY chart Rich, amazing to see so many Delta entries, 2012 really was HER year IMO.
January 2, 201312 yr Author Haha - this is true! I do feel like I'm the only person that I know in real life that knows "Good Time" though. It feels very underrated, despite selling quite well. I agree completely that "Something New" isn't perfect, but it was a great comeback single that really said they were back, before its unfortunate flop :( I hope Taylor chooses the right singles from Red to sustain the success into 2013 :D Very true about Emeli, although her singles success (minus "Next to Me", "Beneath Your Beautiful" and "Read All About It (Part III) at a push) doesn't really translate into how huge she was, especially with "Clown" just creeping into the top fourty after an X Factor final slot! I look forward to hearing what she comes up with next though. Really? :o I'm pretty sure everyone I know knows it, either because I play it too much or because it's on at work all the time! It should have been bigger but I guess it did really well anyway to sell over 300k! Taylor's doing well so far with the single choices and 22 is another fantastic one! Yeah I know what you mean, I guess everyone who wanted Clown already had the album, it's not exactly the highlight anyway, odd single choice...
January 2, 201312 yr Author Fantastic EOY chart Rich, amazing to see so many Delta entries, 2012 really was HER year IMO. Thanks Joseph, it was! Along with 2003 and 2004 of course, my EOY chart 2003 was looning on the scale that would easily win me the 'most pathetic loon' award; 1. Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes 2. Delta Goodrem - Born To Try 3. Delta Goodrem - A Year Ago Today 4. Delta Goodrem - Not Me, Not I Lost Without You, Predictable, This Is Not Me and Happy Xmas (War Is Over) also featured in my top 40 and Innocent Eyes was the #1 album of the year

It was before I discovered Lucie, and I was a fan of her right from What You're Made Of (not actually her first single so I can't say "from the beginning" <_< :P). The reason I liked Lucie was cause she reminded me of Delta, and I find it funny now how they're my two favourite artists, 8 years on. :P

I barely cared about anything from Jan-March 2003! I discovered her with my first listen of Born To Try! I was also a fan of Lucie from the first listen of What You're Made Of, mainly because I thought it was a very good rip-off of Delta's Not Me, Not I  I do actually remember her first single (2000 wasn't it), quite a fuss was made over her in Smash Hits magazine iirc but I wasn't that bowled over by the song at the time.
January 2, 201312 yr Author #2, ridiculous I know but 300+ plays later without even beginning to get old so I know it's something special! Whether it ever makes it all the way to the top remains to be seen :o
January 2, 201312 yr #2, ridiculous I know but 300+ plays later without even beginning to get old so I know it's something special! Whether it ever makes it all the way to the top remains to be seen :o It didn't deserve to beat Believe Again. :( I don't know if I prefer Euphoria or Believe Again but I do love Euphoria, it's definitely going to be very high up in my chart!
January 2, 201312 yr Author It didn't deserve to beat Believe Again. :( I don't know if I prefer Euphoria or Believe Again but I do love Euphoria, it's definitely going to be very high up in my chart! Believe Again is legendary and perfect but Euphoria's had even more of an impact on me than that did! Whether anything will ever match the impact that Set You Free had on me I don't know but Euphoria came the closest ever to doing so, and could still do it if it holds up years down the line!

I'd been a very young loon for artists like S Club 7 and Girls Aloud way before I discovered Delta, but I'm so glad I dug out my albums in around 2010 and gave them a listen, her music means a lot to me! Same for Lucie really, I'd forgotten about her until I dug out her albums in early 2010. She was like my first ever crush, I dreamed of marrying her when I was about 7. Yeah, It's Too Late was her first single in 2000, it's a lovely song but not as beautiful as WYMO which is my favourite song of all time. She tweeted me this after I told her I was listening to her older music: "AH thankyou! I still love "It's too late", feels like another lifetime. It's never a waste, the music was made for a reason xx"

It's never a waste, the music was made for a reason xx" It's just so good, melodically and lyrically and she has such a gorgeous voice, she's perfect! Even her b-sides are incredible for the most part. Haha, isn't she about 35? Yeah I do like It's Too Late, not love, it was never on an album was it? She wrote loads of songs for others too didn't she, Liberty X's Jumpin' springs to mind, which is something completely unlike her solo stuff! I saw her live once, I think in 2005 or 2006, she was amazing, stunning live vocals.

Well the few people that I've heard mention it dislike it. My friendship group don't like my music taste anyway, so it's not as if we get to discuss the latest Carly Rae Jepsen track  Yeah, I hope the rumours about "22" being next are true! Although I would like one of the slower songs released at some point - I reckon "Everything Has Changed" would perform best, due to it featuring Ed. That's true, but then again, Adele has sold almost 2m combined copies of the three singles from 21. But Emeli has pushed a lot more songs than her...

I saw her live once, I think in 2005 or 2006, she was amazing, stunning live vocals. Yeah, definitely. Cannot fault her. The only problem though is that she's not exactly Lucie for me. :heehee: Yeah, she's around 35! I always thought she was younger than Delta TBH. :o It's Too Late wasn't on an album sadly. An album sampler for that album does exist though. It has It's Too Late, three other songs plus the very first version of Forget Me Not. It's really good. And yeah, she's written shedloads for other people! She wrote a couple for Rachel Stevens, such as I Got The Money where you can VERY clearly hear her singing backing vocals. She is fantastic live, I watched one of them via. webshow and she was stunning. I have all the recordings still, haha, quite a few that'll be on the album were performed.

Ah what a shame :( Yeah I guess so, what are they into? A lot of my friends are into chart stuff thankfully, although I never discuss with them the random unknowns that always populate my chart! 22 is an excellent punchy pop song and would be a great choice. A slower song wouldn't do anything for Taylor in the UK, I'm not sure that Everything Has Changed would be a great choice, Ed's obviously hugely popular but the song isn't one of the strongest she or he have done imo. Yeah this is true, Emeli must be on her 15th single of the era at this point  OH MY. *.* Anyway, comments from me; 1. Loreen - Euphoria I don't think I need to comment on this masterpiece! 2. It's definitely top 10 somewhere for me, until I sort out/ever get round to compiling one, I won't know where abouts exactly it is! Thanks Jonjo! Thought you might approve of the #1, and it's placing in my all time list! You should definitely compile a top 50/100 list, I'd love to see it! Glad you still like Flares, it has such a great melody! Kelly's had a good year/era for me, although the three GH songs aren't really up there with the singles from the Stronger era for me personally, although I know you love all of them! I think Michel's chance has passed sadly, a lot of people know the song, just hardly anybody bought it, seeing it as a holiday novelty perhaps :drama: It's funny, somebody else thought that Diamonds wouldn't be in here at all  I really like the song but it's my least favourite Rihanna lead single since SOS I think, but then again I almost always prefer later singles in her eras (We Found Love excepted of course!). I couldn't find a link for Tone's album, I think I downloaded it from iTunes at the time  It's pure pop perfection though, apart from a couple of fillers at the end! Madonna's a funny one for me, I do love MDNA as a whole but no particular one song from it made me think 'WOW'. It's far better than Hard Candy though but at least that had 4 Minutes and Give It 2 Me. I disagree about Devotion, I think it's so gorgeous and beautiful, I still love it now! Halcyon is quite different to Bright Lights, quite a bit more dubsteppy, and nothing much like Believe Me but the album's quickly growing on me! 1. Loreen - Euphoria Obvious no.1 but great 2. Yeah Good Time just defined my summer in the end, I guess it might look like a shock #2 finish but I absolutely adore it! Ha, that's my problem with Lucie - 'she's not exactly Delta'! :P She looks nowhere close to 35, that means that she was in her late 20s when she was smashing which doesn't seem right at all! Oh really, what was the first version of Forget Me Not like? It's like the 2000 version of A Year Ago Today before Delta's voice broke, it sounds so different
January 7, 201312 yr Ah what a shame :( Yeah I guess so, what are they into? A lot of my friends are into chart stuff thankfully, although I never discuss with them the random unknowns that always populate my chart! 22 is an excellent punchy pop song and would be a great choice. A slower song wouldn't do anything for Taylor in the UK, I'm not sure that Everything Has Changed would be a great choice, Ed's obviously hugely popular but the song isn't one of the strongest she or he have done imo. Yeah this is true, Emeli must be on her 15th single of the era at this point  It is a shame, I have nobody to go and see Girls Aloud with! Indie/alternative mainly! Most of which I cannot get into at all, but I am going to see Lianne La Havas with my friend in March (okay, not the best example of those genres, but it's a start!) Hm, maybe... But then again, I never thought she'd do anything with an up-/mid-tempo song in the UK

The original of Forget Me Not is fairly similar, just without the extended note at the end, and with some backing vocalists. Plus Lucie sounds a LOT younger too! I've not actually heard the 2000 version of A Year Ago Today, will definitely check that out!
