RULES / GENERAL INFORMATION

 

1. Each round of Survivor has 4 heats, a play-off round and the final. A new game will be started every 4 weeks (this game was weekly some time ago but it always used to overrun so is now only a monthly fixture)

 

2. The 40 songs in contention for the win are not the 40 highest selling songs of the past 4 weeks, but the 40 songs with the most points - being #1 for one week is worth 100 points while being #100 for one week is worth 1 point. #2 is worth 99 points, #3 98 points etc. etc. The points for each song in the last 4 weeks are added together and the top 40 songs are in contention for the Survivor crown.

 

3. Heat 1 consists of songs 31-40, heat 2 21-30, heat 3 11-20 and heat 4 the top 10.

 

4. Two songs from each of these heats will go straight to the final. The songs placed third in each heat go to the play-off round, where two will be eliminated and the other two will make the final up to 10 songs.

 

5. You vote for your least favourite song in each heat (and the play-off and final). This is done like this;

Say your least favourite song in heat 2 is the #27. It will at first look like this:

27-00 ;; Artist - Song

You would change it to this (it helps to bold what you've changed to avoid confusion):

27-01 ;; Artist - Song

If it's already at 27-01, you'd change it to 27-02 and so on.

 

6. A song is eliminated when it receives a fourth vote. Please remove eliminated songs from your posts.

 

7. You can vote up to three times for each song, but you have to wait for at least 2 other posters to post between votes.

 

8. And for the sake of my sanity please do NOT continue to vote once there are only 2 songs left unless it is the final. Thank you.

 

9. One final thing, please try and make sure all the numbers are accurate and edit your post if you have inaccurate numbers, otherwise it can be really headache-inducing trying to sort out which songs have how many votes.

 

10. There's 53 chart weeks this year (by my counting anyway) so round 7 this year will cover 5 chart weeks instead of 4.
