December 14, 201212 yr Here With Me, Thank You, White Flag, Life For Rent and Sand In My Shoes are timeless classics. End of!
December 15, 201212 yr She actually had some really great singles on her first two albums - I've not listened to the albums themselves (or the 2008 flop), but if she puts out something as good as "Here With Me" or "Thank You" again, I'm I would love it!
December 15, 201212 yr If "Let us move on" is anything to go by, I think I will be slightly disappointed by the direction of the new album. :(
December 16, 201212 yr Love that! But it is just SO good to hear her voice again. Can't wait for the album though I predict it'll have little effect in the charts.
December 16, 201212 yr I have always loved her voice, just not when she releases dirge. Can't help but like 'Let Us Move On', it's a few vocal exercises harking back to her older records and it leans a little too knowingly to whole Lana template with those glitches. I appreciate the Kendrick feature.
December 18, 201212 yr Just got an email stating that Dido's new album is available to pre-order now and all pre-order's on iTunes get a track now called 'The Girl Who Got Away' - Seems they are starting the campaign early as the release date is not until March.

Oh, are they really giving a new track with the pre-order? I thought it was "Let us move on" that was given !
January 8, 201312 yr Her new album "The Girl Who Got Away" will be released on March 4th. Here's the album cover: The first single "No Freedom" premieres in mid-January, and she's already shot the video for the song too. I'm assuming her team won't let her become as vacant with promotion for this album as she was for the last (Safe Trip Home)? Though I don't know if Radio 1 will see her as cool enough to play anymore (see Robbie, Kylie, Madonna). I so want her to succeed this time around!

She's still very much Radio 2 material, though. In the current album sales climate, she should be able to get to #1, even with far less sales than she debuted with last time. January 8, 201312 yr She's 41 now so she's certainly got a disadvantage when it comes to gaining Radio 1 support. I doubt she'll ever be a great commercial success again. During her long gaps in recording, people forget her and move on and she's now dubbed boring when really she's anything but if you actually listen to her music. As long as she keeps putting out albums, I'll be happy. And since she's had two massive albums and now a husband and son, I doubt she's sitting at home praying to get a no.1 smash. She looks stunning on that album cover as well. My milf fetish shining through once more. :drama: Edited January 8, 201312 yr by T Boy
January 8, 201312 yr If a top 3 album and lots of Radio 2 support counts as a 'comeback' then I think that's possible. Hopefully she doesn't ever trouble the singles chart again or end up on R1's playlist, as I find her very boring.

I really disagree with that. I have listened and - apart from White Flag for a few weeks in 2003 - nothing has really engaged my ears. I prefer Beth Orton. But if Emily Sandface can sell albums then I'm sure she can shift a few hundred thousand (eventually) if she gets enough exposure with the lead single. Edited January 8, 201312 yr by AnthonyT

I've no doubt some people genuinely find her boring but I also feel there's a lot of bandwagon jumping. This of course is not a comment on you, but I often feel that to get love on Buzzjack you have to dance around to mindless pop songs in order to get praise for your music.

January 8, 201312 yr A Top 40 lead single (where did her previous lead single peak?) and at least Top 5 album would be great! I want another White Flag!
January 8, 201312 yr she's regarded as too old for the digital age and radio will.completly ignore her... i predict a flop for.both her single and album, even though i'm sure they'll be amazingly good like her previous 3 albums...
January 8, 201312 yr I like her and think she gets a bit too much stick, but I don't really see this making a big splash. Maybe a reasonable selling #4 album or something, but nothing major.
