I'm REALLY excited about this album. Always loved Dido, 'Blackbird' is amazing. Vocally, one of my favourite artists.

Any signs "No Freedom" is climbing in the chart? It looks like Dido is going for zero promotion this time!!
Its not out yet :P but she does seem a bit absent in the promo side of things, maybe she will kick it up nearer the album release time.
I listened to 'Safe Trip Home' about a week ago (I never bothered 'cause I thought her first two albums were just mediocre) and damn, it's so good! Fantastic album, would rate it 4.5/5. From what we've heard so far from the new album it's definitely gonna be a departure from 'Safe Trip Home' wish is a shame but understandable, since the last one pretty much bombed.
Dido did NO promo for her last album so I'm not sure why anyone's expecting any this time. She's done a few online interviews. Apparently she's going to be a guest mentor on the Voice but that won't air until well after the album and single come out. I hope she can sneak top 40 anyway.
Freedom is getting played on Heart Fm so It could do well. If it does then it really is the year of old artists returning. What with Bowie, FOB etc. I reckon it might scrape top 40 for a week or two.
I hope it does well. Hopefully top 40. Cannot wait for the album. Apparently Dido has been misquoted dissing Rihanna. I wish she would just diss Rihanna.
'Freedom' is out today. I just downloaded it after hearing it on Radio 2 a few days ago. It's a cool song, very much a classic Dido song in the vein of 'White Flag' and 'This Land is Mine'. I was a huge fan of her first two albums, good music to chill out to.

The album leaked and is GOOD !

Only got the time to listen to it once yet though. Back to her roots.

"Day before we went to war" is an AMAZING closer, so emotionnal.

The single will unfortunatly flop now. I do hope the album can do well and at the least outperform her last release.
I'm surprised the single hasn't done better. I expected it to go top10 on itunes as its a strong comeback song.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. Dido hasn't shifted singles in almost a decade, and although the majority of the new record sounds fantastic, No Freedom ISN'T particularly strong, let alone as the comeback single from someone who has been away 5 years.

It just doesn't do the best job of making her relevant in today's music climate where ladies can only sell coffee table MOR if they either have a powerhouse voice (see Adele or Emily) or are happy simply performing John-Lewis style covers of various AOR and indie classics.

I'm surprised the single hasn't done better. I expected it to go top10 on itunes as its a strong comeback song.

What?

What?

Personal opinion - I like it. Think its miles better than current stuff in the charts. It might sound like her other stuff and not be relevant to current charts but who cares.

I think she's more of an albums artist these days and she said on BBC News the other day that she doesn't think she could live the kind of juggernaut promo that she did for 'No Angel' and 'Life for Rent' again. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that - Will Young is more of an albums act these days too and he still tours and sells well.
