So any act that releases a record and does not promote it heavily enough and flops is then not counted as a flop?!

If a track is just released to itunes and no video is made then I wouldn't really consider that to be a flop because it doesn't seem as if any effort was made to make it a hit.

It turns out that Under the Westway had a video so I now consider it to be a flop.

As far as I'm concerned a flop is a commercial failure compared to general expectations.

Ultravox released a surprisingly great new album last year, it's a shame nothing charted from it (although I think the album itself went top 20).

Agree- I love "Live"

Just outside. It got to no. 21

Well talking about older acts who don't really release much music anymore, the brand new single from Dido will be premiered on BBC Radio 2 tomorrow at around 11am!

Roxette

Shania Twain

Ace Of Base

She's still recording?

Im not sure, but her debut album so close was brilliant and still is, her second human being was very good but not as good and then it all went wrong. Her best of did reasonably quiet a few years later with hardly promo but after that i really dont much else apart from a third studio album was recorded but never released.

Gina G is another act i would like to see have a hit again.

I'd like the following to have great new No1 albums.

Kylie

Oasis

Blur

Duffy

Betty Boo

Rick Astley

Pulp Stone Roses

The Smiths

Sinitta

Blah, blah, blah...

Kate Bush! 50 Words For Snow did go top 10, but her last big single was King Of The Mountain in 2005, and that was her first for quite a while iirc.

Tina Cousins

B*Witched

A1

Let Loose

Bad Boys Inc

Deuce

Worlds Apart

Her 2nd album didn't do very well, her last T40 hit single must've been 3-4 years ago which is a long time in pop music :P

That's my reply too :yahoo:

Please, some new # 1 singles for Westlife.

+ Shania Twain, Dido, Geri Halliwell, Me & My, Claire Sweeney

I'd like to think that if Oasis reformed and released a killer lead single, it could get to Number 1 (although in reality it probably wouldn't in the current chart climate). Other than that, I'd love any big rock/indie band of the last 20 years e.g. Manics, Stone Roses etc. to come back with a massive hit, although again I doubt it would happen.
