A part of me reckons "My Life" won't debut at number-one this week - it seems too held back; much like "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" in Q1 of 2012. I'd like for it to be a decent seller though, it's just great to have Eminem and 50 Cent back in the charts again. I'm all for "Scream & Shout" spending a second week at #1 though - simply because I despite one-weekers; and we have no idea how "Rattle"'ll fare (although I've been hearing it for almost half a year now).

 

Pleasantly surprised to see Peace in the T75 on iTunes - I was counting on it getting a T200 placing; but now it might look to get T100. Fantastic record though, from a band that's looking to continue giving; so good on them.

Biffy Clyro for number 1!!! That would make My Life (see what I did there?) :lol:

I kind of want 'My Life' to be #1 just because of how long 50 Cent has been waiting for one (and how long Eminem has been waiting for another one, over 6 years now!) but it's not a great song and it would be very odd if this is the one to finally give 50 Cent a #1 after all the much better songs he's done. I have only heard it once though, might be a grower.

Many established artists have finally claimed their first UK #1 recently with sub-par efforts. Maroon 5 is one example ('She Will Be Loved' is by far their best) and so is The Script.

I didn't even realise that Pitbull went back up to #5. It must be because it was used on Take Me Out last night.

I think he means the top version of the song. Because the pre-order went to the clean version, but most people want the explicit version. If the pre-order went to the explicit version, it might be something like #3 and #150 on iTunes now instead of #7 and #15.

 

If there's lots of identical versions of a song, people probably just buy the first one they see. I would say the cheapest, but there have been cases where one version of a song gets discounted, and people still buy the full price version. :drama:

Because the pre-orders meant the clean version went straight in at #13 but it's only climbed to #7 since, whereas the explicit version has climbed from nothing to #16 in the same time. Obviously far more people are downloading the explicit version than the clean version so if that version had the pre-order fuelled debut then it would be a lot higher than #7.

Justin Timberlake may have his song out tomorrow, not sure about UK iTunes though. I'm hoping it'll be released on all iTunes at the same time, but I guess we'll see. It is apparently called 'Suit & Tie'. :dancing:

 

Knew My Life wasn't heading to #1, there was no real buzz around it at all.

I was under the impression Biffy Clyro were releasing "Black Chandelier" as a coinciding-with-the-album single (much like "Teenage Icon" by The Vaccines and "Kemosabe" by Everything Everything) - and thought it'd suffer as a result. Hopefully a decent T40 debut for it then, and a potential climb on the W/C 28/1 when Opposites is released. "Stingin' Belle" can hopefully debut somewhere too - they've really ruined their decent chart streak by releasing a single as an instant grat.
