The announcement should be late afternoon/early evening in the UK, and the first auditions with the panel are tomorrow.

I have a feeling the Paulina Rubio rumour is only happening to bring attention to the show prior the announcement. She is massive in Latin America but not that much in the US, her English isn't perfect, and she's already doing The Voice Kids at the moment in an other country. And she would be a Shakira copycat after Shakira joined The Voice. It doesn't make sense for Simon to take her on the panel.

Then again I thought Kelly was an odd choice, but she seems pretty much confirmed, so who knows...

Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland now appear confirmed as the new judges by various sources.

You don't need all current/relevant names for a show to succeed and then the massive coup of Britney didn't work but still, this show is a sinking ship and if that's the best they can do then they're giving it no chance.

Oh dear, Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland are literally two of the worst names they could have got.

I dunno, I think Kelly Rowland is a half-decent signing. For me, she easily brought more energy to the UK show than any of the other judges over the past two series (I still don't know what possessed them to keep Tulisa over her, did they seriously think Tulisa was more popular or more of an asset to the show at any point?).

Not going to pretend I even know who the other one is though.

I don't see what's so bad about Paulina Rubio? She probably is a big name in America among the Latin population even if sales (in North America anyway) don't reflect it. I imagine her and Kelly's appointments are an excerises to bring in a wider audience, not that it will work probably. It wouldn't work whether they had Rihanna, Katy Perry, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood or Macklemore to be honest.
I always loved Kelly on our version, I just feel like as a country we just didn't get her. I have no doubt she will be just as brilliant in this. I always thought they should've just swapped Kelly and Nicole around for last year.

I like Kelly Rowland but I'm not excited at all about the new panel.

I've checked a few of Paulina's appareances, and she really sounds like a cheap version of Shakira. I don't know how this can work out.

It's like he wanted a White, a Black and a Latin girl to appeal to a wider audience - I'm not sure that's what will make the show a hit.

Anyway, this is not the year I'll get on board with the X Factor

Tulisa was more popular than Kelly in the year they were on the show together

Anyway, two rubbish signings IMO. Don't really know much about Paulina but I think Kelly is a mistake.

Kelly was terrible on the UK version, NGL. :( Hated her so much, trying to act all cool and be smart with the other judges, etc. Not looking forward to seeing her on the US version, either. Not heard anything really about Paulina, though - so it'll be nice to see what she's like.

People have said that, but that's really not how I remember it. Tulisa in the first series might not have been as wildly unpopular as last year, but I think most people were just indifferent to her in her first series, she just didn't DO anything noteworthy or contribute much either positive or negative to the show (apart from calling Misha B a bully).

I think of it as the opposite, TBH. Tulisa really got into it, mucked in, cared for her acts, fought for them, and made her mark on the show in 2011, but in 2012 all of that kind of got lost, and she became just another panel member. She didn't really do anything last year that made me take notice of her - it was more Nicole that was doing that.

K RO was brilliant on the UK panel! She was the only reason I bothered to watch it by the end, everyone else was such a chore and most of the acts were shit.
Kelly should have put Jade through. </3 She would've made everyone in Fife proud.

There was a rumour that K Ro was in Fife to bring her back. I nearly had a heart attack at missing a stalking opportunity

Same as Nicole Scherzinger on both the UK & US versions.

Cher Lloyd is apparently filling for Demi for a date or two of the auditions because Demi's father died on Saturday :( I don't know if her any of her appearences have been filmed yet, I do like Cher but I don't think she'll be a great judge or anything to be honest.
Oh dear god. :manson: Wasn't Cher judging a kids' talent show or something? She should definitely stick to that.

A very sad situation but it feels right that Cher fills in for Demi and a great opportunity for her (well, not that poor viewership levels would help keep her at the height of relevance or anything ).

I don't know her judging ability but I do think going through the whole experience before is a great help.

Personally I thought Kelly Rowland was hilarious on the UK version.. But it did look like her and the other judges didn't get on, hence why I think she decided not to go back & now has been hired for the XF USA because she was entertaining to watch.

Don't know why Simon didn't snap up Ne-Yo to take up LA Reid's seat..
