So here are the top 3 of the Numayanian vote.

Our eight goes to a song which we instantly fell in love with, although we loved her other entry, we couldn't get this track with it's Pulp Ficition guitars out of my head, it's soooo annoying, but nevertheless we love it!

8pts Allecian // Ronya - Annoying

Our 10 points is for a land and a band who have taken on the best of 2013, and won in one world, but not quite in another! Commiserations to...

10pts Dalisska // Haim - Forever

And our top points go to - well what else could it be. Beats! Beards! Bears! If there could be a more perfect song not to qualify in BJSC last year we haven't found it! Thanks for putitng in the work, we hope to see you agian in 2013!

12points Juranabaijan // The 2 Bears - Work

Congrats, Bré! :D Worthy winner!

Thanks for the votes! 2nd (and 29th) is fantastic! ^_^

Missing out on the top 3 at the last minute is a tad annoying but yay, I never expected to do so well and this matches my best result in the actual contest. :D Melanie got her justice.

Haim would've been a better winner but "New York" isn't too awful.

Most predictable top 3 ever  Congrats Persephonia nevertheless!

Very pleased with 5th! Thanks for the votes :D

'Forever' was at one point very likely to be a Persephonia entry so I'll take that as TOP 2 DOMINANCE *.*

Thank you to whoever Dalisska is for not being around, so my floppy nation can be SUPER INAPPROPRIATELY in the TBO Ultimate Edition thingamajig!!! (Assuming it's actually going ahead).

And obviously thank you v much to everyone who voted for Angel Haze and also poor floppy forgotten 'Zola' and 'Lay Your Cards Out'

:D

Congratulations Bre.

The top 2 are, funnily enough, these two:

The songs which came 11th and 12th for me I remember being quite vocal about disliking at the time, I've softened during TBO.

That's some coincidence, but at least it means I'm somewhat happy with the result.

19th is.. well.. I was expecting a little more but at least a lot of people gave it points and it's top 20 so not a complete disaster!

I've not heard New York yet, congrats nonetheless Bre :P Most of my votes did well I think so that's good. DIRE for Parachute Youth, its either DNQs or a terrible position in the final for Terra Avium :snif: Suppose I'm glad it got attention from some though!

Woo at just scraping into the Top 10. And thanks for 12 Tom (though I'd be lying if I sad I wasn't expecting it. :P). Now I've gotta actually remember to enter the next one!

My favorite single of 2012 (along with 'Disparate Youth' by Santigold). So thank you for this discovery! Was a major hit in Belgium too apparently, #2 and 30 weeks in the top50.

It did not deserve this dire performance, that's for sure!

And oh, dire winner too!! (I finally get to throw shade at Bré!)

And oh, dire winner too!! (I finally get to throw shade at Bré!)

'Emmylou' to win TBO now so I can throw that shade back at you <_<

Our next country has developed a reputation for being a non-voter, but I'm pleased to say they stuck to it this time! Hej Greenfroze!

Wait. Have I really developed something like that? I only failed to vote that ONE TIME :( I can't remember not voting in any other contest in here. I love BJSC! ^_^

Oh and I'm just going to throw something out there (not so much influenced by personal opinion as I like New York), but I think Dalisska should've won and that possibly non-voters don’t get a penalty for not voting in TBO. I realize the rule is there to give people an incentive to vote and such and that should still definitely apply for the monthly contests because it’s so often and not voting there ruins the ‘flow’ and spirit of the contest in general, but in TBO it’s much more important that the right song actually wins regardless. TBO is only once a year and is there to find out which song is the best one of the entire year (or best entry to DNQ) and should be exempt of that penalty. I know Dalisska could’ve voted for New York as well, but if the penalty is there in the first place, why not make Dalisska unable to get to the semi finals of the next TBO? Like in the usual contests where participants can’t participate in the next contest. Why not just threaten – if they don’t vote - to remove them from the list of entries that we can vote for if they get in a final next year? Even if it’s second? Or even just remove them completely if actually winning? It’s a BIT difficult to explain what I mean, but I hope you understand

Oh and thank you to the nations who voted for Greenfroze and our Orange Caramel  9th is quite great! :D

Although I would've LOVED a top 5 for The LIPS, The Very Best and Elisabeth Carew! All 9/10 moments! 'İşporta' is quite the fancy song as well, though, so that must be the song I'm most happy about to see end up in top 5!

Oh alright, 'Don't fail me now' as well. Good pop song, that one!

Would that not make it even less likely that the right song would win? If I understand you correctly that is, as in you're proposing banning a nation from TBO for not voting the previous year?

I understand where you're coming from, but we can't know what would have happened had Dalisska voted and so unless Sabrewulf comes in and gives his opinion on New York, we can't say if he would have won or not had he voted. Where it's likely that a lot of participants won't vote in these competitions (with the likes of Reloaded and WYRMT?) I think a deduction should be as minimal as possible or not even there, but not in TBO where it's likely most people will vote - the current 15 point deductions are fair. As you aren't allowed to vote for yourself, this (presumably) gives your song a 12 point deficit from you not able to give it maximum points and therefore avoiding a deduction fixes this - if you look at it with everything starting out on -15, you're giving 15 points to your entry by voting. It being a little bit more than 12 presumably fixes the problem of there being no votes from the non-voter to assign to 10 countries and maybe even assumes that the person who sent the entry is its biggest fan and most influential in how successful it is. So if you look at it that way, Sabrewulf, being a fan of HAIM, didn't vote and therefore they couldn't win as they didn't have enough support from voting countries.

Anyway, this wouldn't be a problem if the deductions didn't change the winner but I can't see any other way around it in order to be fair to those that did vote.

I'm not sure if I understand everything you say, but I think this is my point. If it's about complete fairness, then a nation ban is appropriate including the penalty ban just like in a regaular contest. But this is sort of much bigger than that overall. If we don't like/allow the banning of a nation from TBO for not voting, but sort of making them able to qualify regardless (henceforth probably not giving another worthy song the actual chance) because we really want to find as close a TBO worthy winner as possible, then that supports my argument slightly more than not.

Well it's safe to say the right NATION won. Never ever expected Angel Haze to do so well and would have PROBABLY preferred a different song but I ain't complaining. Well pleased with top 15 tooo.

İşporta doing so well

Angel Haze

Incredible winner (for once).

FANTASTIC to see Haley top 15, still absolutely love the song. Surprised Nina qualified at all to this part (especially over Kristina Maria) so second to last isn't bad.
