Really surprised to see 50 Cent at #1 today as he was only briefly ahead of will.i.am combined on iTunes, I think it must be really close between the two and who knows how far behind Timberlake is, unless the OCC give a clarification we won't really have any indication of that until Friday.

Extremely star studded top 5 at the moment - 50 Cent, Eminem, Adam Levine (as part of Maroon 5), will.i.am (as part of The Black Eyed Peas and also solo to some extent), Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift (in the USA at least) and Rihanna have all had massive careers, the only odd one out is Mikky Ekko! Shame it's all Americans + Rihanna but the worldwide superstars do tend to be.

#11 is great for 'Black Chandelier', I have some hope that it might not fall too much by Sunday as the EP is still selling very strongly, #5 on the iTunes album chart (think that's actually the highest it's been so far) and the single track is #21 and not dropping yet. It should be on course to at the very least stay top 15. Their highest peak beyond their 3 top 10 hits is #13 for 'Saturday Superhouse' so it'd be fantastic if this could match or beat that, was never expecting it to trouble the top 10.

DJ Fresh on course to add a 15th week top 30, looking likely to match if not beat the 8 weeks it had on its first chart run. Matrix & Futurebound possibly to outpeak 'All I Know' this week? That peaked at #29. Would be a brilliant turn around for them.

Knew it already but confirmation of Everything x2 #3 in the albums is good to see. Doubt it'll quite hold onto the top 3 but top 5 hopefully not too much to ask for. Fantastic album. Would be amazing if 'Kemosabe' could make the top 40 too but it's stalling outside on iTunes and not here on the mids so it won't happen. Maybe a second top 50 hit though.

MW mid report added 4k separate the top 3 tracks.

Rudimental - Hell Could Freeze not charting then?

didn't realize it was even released this week until i saw it on iTunes earlier

My Life is in the top 20 on Amazon downloads so maybe that is what is making the difference now. I hope 50 Cent & Eminem can stay at #1 to make up for the songs that should have went to #1 but didn't.

If "Suit & Tie" is only 4k behind then surely it's a foregone conclusion provided it's still #1 on iTunes on Saturday.

Biffy at #11 is excellent, makes me think "Opposites" is going to be closer to 100k than 50 in a couple of weeks time. And is Les Mis is outselling its three nearest challengers then even if it drops off that's at least 60k this week?

Its ironic how this week an OA/OS act (Mr JT) could well top the sales chart as HMV goes down the pan.

Could the terrible week for hmv actually increase album sales this week?>

Yeah 60k is a good total for the no1 if it keeps it up, could be more or less by weeks end. I think Opposites will be near 100k in its first week too - ive said that for ages but the hmv thing this week makes me doubt it too!!

I don't quite get the connection here.

I think that song is up for free download (although other songs available for free have done well to be fair), but also it's less mainstream friendly than Rudimental's other songs + has had less promotion, so I'm not surprised if it doesn't chart tbh.

I don't understand how My Life is no.1 when that song was / is bellow Scream & Shout on iTunes and amazon since it was released.. really strange..
Great, so JT is still 4000 behind. What people are still buying S&S and how is My life doing so well. So frustrating. Well JT is holding up now and stabalising on itunes so it looks good for him. This week is going to slow for me. 1D doing well.

Because My Life has two versions (a clear version and a explicit version) and Scream And Shout only has one version.

edit - misunderstood comment

Although I don't really get what you're saying, Umi?

You were feeding him incorrect info (Scream & Shout has another version at #43, not that Nick wasn't aware of that). The fact that 50 Cent has two versions is irrelevant, Bré's post clearly states that even with his second version he was still outselling S&S for a brief period only.

They both have two versions, S&S is ahead combined.

Well, it must be selling better on other download sites that Nick hasn't mentioned or looked at.

Well, maybe, but my point is that you shouldn't give out info that you haven't bothered to research. It's more often than not incorrect.

I only assumed it because I've never seen the second version on the iTunes chart. Where would I even look if I wanted to know? I don't know!
