It's at the dizzy heights of #38 on airplay...

It's A-listed on Radio 1 and XFM. It doesn't matter that Heart and Radio 2 aren't playing it.

What airplay's this? Apart from Radio 1 I haven't heard it anywhere. Guitar music sadly isn't supported by commercial radio any more

People who listen to commercial radio wouldn't have bought it anyway. My point is it's the biggest rock record of the moment by a big band but still not enough people are interested, which to me shows that rock isn't exactly on the cusp of taking over the charts again.

It might not matter that they aren't playing it (although I would say Heart does matter but only to certain songs) but it very much does matter that Capital aren't playing it as they have just as much of an influence if not more on the chart as R1 does now. Rock is never going to make a proper comeback until Capital either disappears or starts playing it. As it is, a top 15 for 'Black Chandelier' is a strong showing.

As much as I love XFM, Biffy could release a recording of one of them shaving their chest hair and they'd play it every 20 minutes. As Bray said, Capital is far more important and it's still stuck in 2011.

Actually, I haven't heard them play any music from 2011 since a month ago! :o

Stylistically, I mean.

Get a grip for christ's sake, it's apparently the end of the world every week when the chart result doesn't go your way.

Midweek Charts update: Timberlake heading for Top 10

Source: MW

by Paul Willams

Justin Timberlake is heading for the Top 10 of the UK singles chart for the seventh time as a solo act just days after Suit & Tie debuted at radio.

In a rare instance of On Air/On Sale, where a track is commercially made available at the same time as radio starts playing it, the RCA-issued single featuring Jay-Z went on sale at the beginning of week and is currently No 3 in the midweeks, according to the Official Charts Company. Timberlake's last Top 10 hit was What Goes Around...Comes Around, which reached No 4 in 2006.

Narrowly ahead of Suit & Tie are a newly-issued single by 50 Cent, Eminem and Adam Levine and the Interscope/Polydor will.i.am/Britney Spears single Scream & Shout, which climbed to No 1 last Sunday. Up to the end of business on Thursday Scream & Shout had a lead of around 1,000 sales over Suit & Tie to sit at No 2 in the midweeks and the Interscope/Polydor-issued My Life by 50 Cent, Eminem and Levine was about 4,000 copies ahead at No 1.

Also among the top five sellers presently are Mercury act Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble, which falls 2-4, and Def Jam/Mercury act Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko's Stay, dropping 4-5.

Polydor's Les Miserables soundtrack is heading to No 1 this weekend, having sat at No 5 last Sunday. Its sales in the week to date are more than the combined totals of Virgin Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events, Jake Bugg's self-titled Mercury debut and Everything Everything's new RCA album Arc immediately below it. Sande's album drops 1-2, Bugg's holds at 3 and Everything Everything debut at 4 in the week so far. Also newly ariving in the Top 10 at 7 is US rapper ASAP Rocky with his ASAP Worldwide/Polor/RCA set Long Live ASAP.

No. Justin after 7 years and SOOOOOO close it's different.

I so want to come and give you a much needed hug to calm you down :drama:

I hope Conor has snuck into the top 40, with Lawson potentially top 30 by Sunday!

Anne Hathaway still not top 20 :( and she is slipping on itunes. Truely the end of the world :(

Sorry, but if you're that passionate and deluded over an artist and the charts, then you need to calm down because there are so much more important things in life to worry about. -_-

I know! :( I really hope it can scrape #20 come Sunday!

Better than a slap, at least... :P

Ugh and all American top 5. Fantastic to see Lawson as high as 31. Top 30 for Sunday then.

Rihanna isn't American.

Top 3 starting to look clear cut, looks like it will be a #1 for 50 Cent unless will.i.am gets a very big weekend effect! Who'd have thunk :o Nearly 10 years since 50 Cent first made the chart.

'Black Chandelier' and 'Arc' only down a place each on their respective charts is good. Have a feeling 'Arc' is gonna end up #6 though. Will rage if that happens. YAY at Conor Maynard making the top 40, hopefully the Wiley version will propel it to at least top 20.

Didn't notice '21' back in the top 30 on Wednesday! Helped by her Golden Globe win I guess.

Is 'Clique' still at #23?
