Re: Emeli Sande and Labrinth, I don't think either should release another track from the album, personally. Labrinth especially has nothing worthy of being released anyway. "Climb on Board" is decent, but it's back to the generic-autotune; so I don't imagine it'd do very well. He'd do better to leave "Beneath Your Beautiful" as his biggest hit and continue work on a second album.

As for Sande, she's got the Royal Albert Hall DVD and BRIT Awards in February, so I imagine "Clown"'ll still be the main focus around both campagins. Surprised "River" or "Where I Sleep" weren't released in place of "My Kind of Love"; but following "Clown" with another ballad might just send people over the edge.

I would agree, i also believe Clown will be what Emeli will promote on the Brit Awards etc so she will end the era (singles) with a decent enough hit that will keep her album selling for a another while yet. I cant see her album leaving the top 10 for a good while after the Brit Awards.
Clown is going to #1 after the Brits isn't it?
If Clown gets to #1, they will be a follow up because they always release another single after a #1.
I don't know why it's proving more popular than Figure 8, though?

The public always prefer Ellie's ballads. That why I think My Blood still has a chance to smash.

Thrift Shop really jumping up the chart now - top 10 already and radio play wont peak for another 3 weeks - could rise to no1 next week. I take that the video is out already, is capital playing it?

I think they always should release another single after a #1 (it's a waste not to imo), but Labrinth's album is proving otherwize, there's no sign of another single.

Yeah, the music video came out last summer. And Capital FM are playing it apparently (although I haven't heard it on there yet). :cheer:

Why are Glee only starting to get top 100 entries 4 episodes into the series? I'm pleased though, although "It's Time" should have made top 100 at least too...

Emeli needs a solo number one.

It's odd how massive her OVOE era has been but it's spawned no #1s. I guess 'Heaven', 'Next to Me' and 'Read All About It Part III' all got close. Still sad that 'Daddy' and 'My Kind of Love' couldn't reach those levels of success.

Has there ever been a 5th/6th single from an original album (excl. songs only available on a re-release) that's done as well as 'Clown'?

Drinking From The Bottle :P

I'm guessing with it being a quiet week, that sales are lower than usual, therefore Glee are getting higher positions on iTunes? 'It's Time' definitely deserved to go top 100, I agree.

Pleased to see 'Give Your Heart A Break' go top 100 though <3 Has Demi's original benefitted at all?

If 'Runaway' could just about go top 15, then 'Rewind' deserves to miss the top 20. It's rubbish. Diane Birch's voice is painful.

Oh Jonjo, I did not just hear you say that. :(

'Thrift Shop' top 10 :cheer: Could be #1 within days now, a la PSY (its ascent up the chart is actually more reminiscent of PSY's than Gotye's now I think about it).

Devlin now doing more like what I expected, guess it was a bit too early to judge yesterday.

Boo at Glee showing up again, I was hoping the 'not even making top 100 on iTunes' thing would be permanent now :P 'Mine' and 'The Scientist' could be in contention for an official top 100 slot if they hold up well. On the bright side, yay for Coldplay getting another very minor hit as songwriters I guess?

10. Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Quiet week, so STEAL that #1 :w00t:

13. Rewind (feat. Diane Birch) - Devlin

40. Missiles - The Risk They must have dedicated fans to still be buying this!

365. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Same Love (feat. Mary Lambert)

376. Tyler James - Worry About You

819. Tyler James - Worry About You Please do something

Drinking From The Bottle :P

I think "Drinking From the Bottle" is in a different situation - given that it's only the first post-album release (despite being single #7, if you include "We Found Love"). In Emeli's case, it truly is remarkable how well "Clown" is doing - especially as it's the third post-album single (if you include "Read All About It, Pt. III") and fifth post-album single if you include her two collaborations that feature on the repackage. If it can outpeak the track of the 2012 Olympics, "Read All About It, Pt. III", I'll be gobsmacked; but I don't imagine she'll perform anything else at the BRITs but "Clown". Would a performance of "Daddy" be too much to ask?

Thrilled to see "Thrift Shop" now in the T10, entering in favour of James Arthur; who having reach the 1 million milestone doesn't really need to hang around anymore (though it's still raising money for charity I guess). Am I right in thinking it's now the second biggest-selling winners' single behind Alexandra Burke?
