January 30, 201313 yr Where are Delphic please? - this is looking a bit of a disaster for them, but then unlike EE they don't appear to have done much publicity at all, and no teaser single either...
January 30, 201313 yr sounds a bit sad but I feel like the proud father watching his son achieve something :D been a Biffy fan for well over a decade, seen them tour plenty of toilet circuits in the UK and I've had plenty of people turn round to me when I mention Biffy as a favourite band and say "who". Obviously this has been coming for a few years but if you said to me in 2004 when I bought Infinity Land that the band would have a No1 album in just under a decade's time, I'd have turned round and laughed at you more likely
January 30, 201313 yr If Biffy is 30k ahead, I make the #2 album around 13.5k Since it's Wednesday, would you times that by 2.5 for an estimate for Sunday's sales? That would make 34k, although may be a little closer to 40k since it will probably get a weekend effect as most people will probably watch the film at the weekend.
January 30, 201313 yr Author Where are Delphic please? - this is looking a bit of a disaster for them, but then unlike EE they don't appear to have done much publicity at all, and no teaser single either... We only have a top 40 update. We don't have top 75 info, the best place to find a rough position for it, its the album iTunes chart.
January 30, 201313 yr Great sales for Biffy - 43k already means they should do around 75-80k by sunday which would be brillant for january and what with LM hopefully on for another 40k things are looking up. The singles arent as exciting but it means alot of movers and new songs that wouldnt normally go top 40 getting there. Thrift Song could be this years STIUTK the way its rising and with Gabrielle Aplin releasing on 11th feb they could have a no1 streak like it too when they finally get to no1 next week they may have to make way for the former for a week or so?!
January 30, 201313 yr in the figures by the way, the OCC report is slightly wrong I think? Only Revolutions debuted at No7 in November 2009 because it was up against some big albums then (think that was the JLS/Robbie Williams battle for No1) it climbed to a peak of No3 in August 2010 when they were at Reading/Leeds

January 30, 201313 yr What's all this talk of Thrift Shop becoming the new Somebody That I Used to Know? http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ls972oKS6g1qazkdco1_500.gif
January 30, 201313 yr YAY for Biffy :D There was no doubt that they'd be Number 1 in the midweeks but I didn't expect them to sell that much this early!
January 30, 201313 yr :D at 'Thrift Shop' already at #8, thought it'd be a bit lower today. Hopefully top 3 by the end of the week and #1 next week. And incredible to see 'Opposites' already beating the first week total of 'Only Revolutions', it will be a comfortable victory for them after all (was beginning to worry about Bieber but if he's not even head of Les Mis then they'll be fine). Great to see 'Black Chandelier' currently up a place as well, would be really happy with a third week anywhere in the top 40. That Jools Holland album has done amazingly well, a chart run of 21-26-21-36-30-21-20-15- so far and now looking like breaking into the top 10. Thought it'd completely fade away after Christmas but it's actually doing better since (position wise obviously) :o Its great - love bands that peak around album 3/4 of their careers!! This is their sixth album though :P Edited January 30, 201313 yr by Bré

January 30, 201313 yr Bingo Players have a healthy lead!! Hoping for some nice sales this week :) Amazing sales for Biffy so far!!!

January 30, 201313 yr This is their sixth album though :P I thought he was talking about Foals - "Inhaler" I think has got a lot more people interested in them and I can see the album challenging for #1.
January 30, 201313 yr Author 5 weeks of consecutive climbs! :o What's been giving it this boost? He was on Jonathan Ross show last Sat, along with Alicia :P
January 30, 201313 yr Can't believe One Direction's first album is still in the Top 40 and still climbing, when we're already three singles into the second album! Who the hell is still buying it?! Edited January 30, 201313 yr by mango
January 30, 201313 yr Was hoping Ellie'd be top 10, but #12 is nice. Hopefully top 15 on Sunday. Pleasing to see Alicia top 10, wasn't expecting a repeat of what The Element of Freedom did post-Christmas but I wish it'd pick up a little more. Taylor's album hasn't been boosted by IKYWT anywhere near as much as I'd expected, I must say. I thought Red would be a massive seller.
January 30, 201313 yr We had the standard and deluxe versions of the Biffy Clyro CD at work - It is one of the first new releases to be stocked since going into Adminisration, I'm assuming their record company were keen for it to be stocked in HMV. Edited January 30, 201313 yr by ___∆___
