February 5, 201312 yr Usually I remember only good or very bad number ones, so most forgotten # 1s for me: Period : 1995 - 2012 Mark Morrison - Return of the Mack Peter Andre - I Feel You White Town - Your Woman Eternal - I Wanna Be the Only One Verve - The Drugs Don't Work Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Oasis - The Hindu Times Craig David - Fill Me In A1 - Same Old Brand New You McFly - Obviously Kings of Leon - Sex On Fire All # 1 songs from JLS :)
February 5, 201312 yr I think the winner must be : 3 Of A Kind - Babycakes, since no-one even remembered it enough to add it to the list... :P Edited February 5, 201312 yr by vidcapper

February 5, 201312 yr There are probably more forgotten than classic #1's from the mid 90s-mid 00s era, and 2010 seemed to be full of them too for some reason. Anybody got any example of 'forgotten chart toppers' that were multi week #1's? I always forget that Start Without You managed more than a week at #1, I never think of it as one of Alexandra's big hits at all, it always completely slips my mind  Back to 2010 again, Good Times by Roll Deep spent not one not two but THREE weeks at number 1 all pretty much by default  Don't Wanna Go Home by Jason Derulo also spent two weeks there, another extremely forgettable number 1 of recent years Edited February 5, 201312 yr by Chez Wombat

I guess they don't, since, as already stated, "Sex on Fire" is still as ubiquitous as they come. And while not undisputable part of the Big Canon, I reckon "Return of the Mack", "Your Woman", "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" and even "Fill Me In" aren't exactly forgettable; more like cult #1's, if you will.

I still cherish many of the 2010 number ones and could probably recite the list through (especially Roll Deep from the 'forgotten' list aside: how I wish Sex On Fire was forgotten, but it never will be, will it? :(

It's my personal opinion, so they are forgotten for me, I can't say for everybody. I remember most # 1 singles from last 15-17 years, but don't remember those songs. Maybe I heard them, but they were not good, but also not bad in my opinion, when I heard it. Yes, I don't listen radio. (Only UK charts many years ago) "Sex On Fire" came from the period, when I didn't heard UK charts and didn't have Internet. I'm from Russia. "Drugs Don't Work" and "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" weren't popular in my country. Edited February 5, 201312 yr by AlexRange
February 5, 201312 yr I think it's more the fact that some of the ones missing from your list were barely popular in Britain, and I can't imagine travelled well.
February 5, 201312 yr I think it's more the fact that some of the ones missing from your list were barely popular in Britain, and I can't imagine travelled well. Must agree. For simple : All 4 # 1s from B*Witched are not popular, but I like them and even have both their albums on CDs. :) Edited February 5, 201312 yr by AlexRange
February 5, 201312 yr Matt Cardle "When We Collide" - sold a million copies but was very of the time and you are more likely to hear Biffy's version on the radio today. Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra "Don't Go" - Wretch should've followed his advice and not gone to #1
February 5, 201312 yr Matt Cardle "When We Collide" - sold a million copies but was very of the time and you are more likely to hear Biffy's version on the radio today. To be fair it's the same with most winner's singles.
February 5, 201312 yr Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis (don't think I've ever heard this anywhere other than Youtube)
February 5, 201312 yr Author Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis (don't think I've ever heard this anywhere other than Youtube) Maybe Joe Bloggs has forgotten about it. But in terms of, well, hipster cred, you can bet your life it's quite fondly regarded. And contrary to what a lot of people might think, hipster cred does matter quite a bit.

February 6, 201312 yr I think the winner must be : 3 Of A Kind - Babycakes, since no-one even remembered it enough to add it to the list... :P That's not forgotten - that's been deliberately erased from the nation's collective conscience
February 6, 201312 yr That's not forgotten - that's been deliberately erased from the nation's collective conscience Not mine, and it seems fondly remembered by people around my age tbf. I like the track actually, though I do prefer the tracks immediately preceding and knocking it off #1 ('Thunderbirds' (it is better than '3AM' though, granted) and 'These Words').
February 6, 201312 yr To be fair it's the same with most winner's singles. James Arthur may have changed that!
February 6, 201312 yr Surely Oasis The Hindu Times is forgettable? Can not remember a note! I doubt many alternative/nostalgia channels play it!
