There's going to be a massive clear-out of the T40 this week, on iTunes at least. When you compare songs with where they were on Wednesday morning there are some huge drops:

07 // 13 // Disclosure - White Noise (feat. AlunaGeorge) (DOWN 6)

12 // 19 // Dizzee Rascal - Bassline Junkie (DOWN 7)

15 // 24 // Little Mix - Change Your Life (DOWN 9)

17 // 25 // will.i.am - Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears) (DOWN 8)

18 // 26 // Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (DOWN 8)

19 // 27 // Rita Ora - Radioactive (DOWN 8)

22 // 34 // Bingo Players - Get Up (Rattle) (feat. Far East Movement) (DOWN 12)

24 // 35 // Drake - Started From The Bottom (DOWN 11)

29 // 59 // Lawson - Learn To Love Again (DOWN 30)

30 // 49 // Pitbull - Don't Stop The Party (feat. TJR) (DOWN 19)

33 // 69 // Lil Wayne feat. Drake & Future - Love Me (DOWN 36)

37 // 54 // Imagine Dragons - Radioactive (DOWN 17)

40 // 55 // Example - Perfect Replacement (DOWN 15)

Obviously there are multiple versions clogging up the top end of the chart, but some of these drops are quite remarkable over little more than 48 hours. The BRITs have had a huge impact on the chart!

Let's bet that JT will do S&T on JR tomorrow? I know he will! If he does Mirrors could go all the way number 1 next week... but I think he won't do the same song twice in 3 days time, he will push S&T to top 10 again.
The exposure for Mirrors will still be great anyway even if he does perform Suit & Tie. I'd like to see that back in the top 10 anyway. So two singles in the top 10 will be great, and Mirrors making #1 would be a bonus :D

Great for Justin though I reckon it'll fall off #1 on itunes soon.

Could Pompeii exceed people's expectations though, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if it went top 3.

Great to see there's lots of movement ATM. Poor Gabrielle though, hopefully it'll climb quickly again.

I'm loving Icona Pop but I worry it won't do anything as it doesn't seem to be supported anywhere yet (Radio 1 seems to be ignoring it so far surprisingly). Has anyone seen it on TV (i.e like the Box?).

Does anyone know where James Blake peaked with Retrograde, did it even manage to break the top 100? I can't even think of the right words to successfully describe the effect the track has on me; just magical.

It debuted at #92 this week.

I wonder how many other weeks have produced three (or more) different iTunes number ones, like this week?

Not too many, I suspect....

It probably depends on how well Justin Timberlake is selling at the moment. Does make me wonder if the music channels will use his Brits performance as a music video like they did with Adele 'Someone Like You' even though his live version wasn't released to iTunes. Bastille could well #1 in the early midweeks judging from its pre-order sales but suspect it will tail off et la 'Video Games' and 'Please Don't Say You Love Me' and tail off over the week. Top 5 should be safe though.

I've seen the video to 'I Love It' once so far. :manson: It was shown on Dance Chart Show (?) - it used to be called Dance Nation but they've changed the name of the channel but it's practically the same. Considering how popular the track has been in other countries, it would be typical if the UK was one of the very few countries where 'I Love It' didn't actually become a hit. Ireland getting it right once again though.

I just realize that JT isn't performing at all at JS today, I don't get it. Such a lame decision! He comes to speak and Tom Odell will sing. Who cares?!?

"JT's obviously just been in town for the BRITs, but it seems he's taken some time to have a chat with Jonathan about life, love and of course, The 20/20 Experience. Speaking of music. Soul singer-songwriter turned actress Joss Stone and comedian Jason Manford are both on Jonathan's sofa this eve too, making it a rather well rounded line-up if we do say so ourselves. Plus, tonight's music comes courtesy of BRITs Critics' Choice winner Tom Odell."

Taylor Swift hasn't benefitted much from Graham Norton last night...

Currently at #8, #22, #31 (Brits performance)

97 - Tom Odell - Can't Pretend

168 - Tom Odell - Another Love

Album Chart

68 - Tom Odell - Songs From Another Love EP

hope he climbs a bit more, thought the brits would have had a bit more of an impact

Just because *you* don't care about Tom Odell performing, doesn't mean others won't. Stop being such an arrogant loon. It is really getting tedious.

Tom Odell also needs to showcase his music as well, Justin has had a lot more promotion over the last few weeks than he has had so far. He won the Critic's Choice award but not many people know about Tom Odell's music apart from that.

Well said Matt. I don't think it matters if Justin performs or not. Seeing as Odell is new and is the critic choice for success this year it is probs more important for him to get a bit of exposure from JR.

Exactly what I was trying to say in my post above. Odell needs the promotion to get noticed not just an award.

You won't be saying he needs promotion when he becomes as overexposed as Emeli Sande!

I don't think so, Emeli reaches out to a wider audience than Tom Odell in my opinion, which is why she is chosen for TV shows over other acts.

I doubt he'll be as overexposed as Emeli.

People said that about Emeli Sande back when she had only released 'Heaven' and 'Daddy'; now look at her!

Tom just needs to create his own church hymn lite track like 'Read All About It Part III' and he's away!
