There is really no hype for Boomerang. I've not heard it on any radio stations at all if I'm honest.

I think "Boomerang" will be lucky to sell 40k next week, tbh.
'Try' was very mid-tempo though and mid-tempo rarely sells a lot in comparison to ballads and up-tempos. JGMAR contains very emotive vocals so I'd say that's probably the main reason why it's doing well.

With the other version top 40 too, I can see this being a #5/#6 smash which is probably the best a third Pink single has done.

Uh, "Just Like A Pill" hit #1.

Why do I have a horrible feeling that Bastille is going to be the new Justin Timberlake? :(

No chance. Different genres. Different markets. There will never be a new Justin Timberlake.

I KNEW I was forgetting something.

Ok, bar that. :P

I think he was talking about who omrimayo's will be looning over for the next week (but i may be wrong :P)

It could still do "better" without hitting #1. Just Like a Pill got #42 in the year-end chart I think, so if this gets year-end top 40 (which many #5/#6 hits have done) it would've done better imo.

Yes. That is the correct answer. :magic:

The Extended Cut of Bastille album is on repeat in the past few hours... this is such an amazing album! OMG!

YES. :cheer:

not sure why the standard version is higher on pre order on iTunes, £2 extra and you get so much more

Good point actually.

I keep forgetting JLAP even made #1. It looks so odd in her chart history. I always used to think it was 'Get This Party Started' that was a #1.

'Just Like A Pill' benefitted from a really quiet sales week and only sold 48k to be #1, and there were a lot of weeks where the #1 was selling over 100k (mainly thanks to Will & Gareth from Pop Idol).

'Just Give Me A Reason' has probably sold 48k to date yet it's only just hit its peak.

What's with Sarah McLachlan's Angel appearing out of nowhere into the top 40, Dancing on Ice I presume? She along with Jewel deserved so much more UK success than they ever got, at least Sarah piggybacked her way into the top three on Delerium's Silence I guess but still...so many classics unheard by the masses here.

That's an X-Factor winner's single in the making too.

Yup. Up to #30 now, possible top 40 re-entry this week then along with Fleetwood Mac!

Was hoping to see more of an effect on James Vincent McMorrow 'Higher Love' from DOI - it is at #131, #222 and #296 which isn't too bad I guess. Tyler James' version at #425 and the original at #609 also.

87. Tonight (Best You Ever Had) [feat. Ludacris] - John Legend

What's this doing in the top 100?

YES!!! So happy for Bridgit!!! Amazing song!

I'm waiting for the day that Angel gets the big Iris style boost that it's been crying out for for years! I don't expect this will be quite it, it'll probably stall quickly and just about make or miss the top 40 at the end of the week. It's too famous a song to have such a terrible peak, I'd be interested to know what its total sales are because it probably trickle sells incredibly well.

Incidentally 'Iris' is back at #50 itself. This one wasn't on DOI but it was on something on the TV because whatever it was, my parents were watching it :P

EDIT: I lied. It was on Dancing On Ice - just didn't see it on Wikipedia as it was a Save Me skate so not in the table.

BOOO at Bridgit but it was pretty inevitable it would go top 10. Hoping it'll do a Karmin (or worse).
