It doesn't take a brain to realise that Bastille will have a Top 20 hit today.

That's not the point, the point is that you've been proved wrong when you're making a serious point that Bastille won't have the #1 album because they've never had a Top 20 hit before the album has been released! :drama:

It's probably because your argument is incredibly weak, and is becoming to be based around Bastille not having a hit, which you & I both know, they will in about 6 hours.

Also acts like Jake Bugg have got to Number 1 without ever having a hit; Two Fingers went top 40 the same week as the album IIRC.

 

I would say there is way more hype for Bastille at the moment than when Jake released his album

Bastille are ahead on most physical online retailers like Amazon.

I'd love Dido to get the number 1 spot but I don't think she will make it. She needed a huge hit for her comeback and she failed to deliver that.

No Freedom could be a surprise hit if she decided to promote it. It's a brilliant song as well. ^_^

Dido or the Phonics should be no.1 in an IDEAL WORLD but this is the real world so it's not happening.

 

This really. Dido and Stereophonics are two of my favourite music acts but I am in no way deluded enough to think either of them are going near #1 with their albums.

 

Dido has been promoting, she is doing a ton on interviews. She isn't churning out the big promo spots because she can't keep up with that pressure, especially now she has a young son to think about. She wants to release the album and do small venues to showcase the music to her fans.

Bastille have never evan had a top 20 single (contrary to what I thought earlier). How many acts have their debut album go to #1 without a big hit single? Don't say 'Les Mis' as they are a totally different kettle of fish.

Dido will never have a hit again. She's not been relevant since 2004 and we live in a climate which worse than ever with being hot on 'flavours of the month'.

 

I think it's clear she doesn't care about being hugely commercially successful any more which is fine, but her best shot at selling a single is whenever someone performs 'White Flag' on the X-Factor. :P
