Posted March 5, 201312 yr Is anyone watching this each evening this week at 9pm on BBC1? Bit slow, far too concentrated on the woods and searches. All these suspects and I actually don't think she's dead and has maybe just run away.
March 5, 201312 yr Author I watched the first episode. It was rather weird, to say the least. So was last night's and tbh we're no further on, except the model village building guy has been found hanged in the woods. I'll stick with it though.
March 5, 201312 yr Author Must say I do prefer a story to run consecutive nights like this, rather than weeks on end like Broadchurch.
March 5, 201312 yr I find the idea of running it on consecutive nights a bit of a pain. It is fairly slow but that makes a nice change. It's still half the length of the 2nd and 3rd series of The Killing.

So do I, as there is other programmes I want to watch at 9pm on different channels, I just watch the series over 2 to 3 nights on iplayer, that way you don't lose the plot as much.
March 5, 201312 yr Author It's time the BBC got some +1 channels like ITV has. They come in very handy when programmes clash as you can watch the ITV or Ch.4 one on +1.
March 5, 201312 yr At a time when the BBC is making hefty cuts I can't see them launching +1 channels any time soon.
March 5, 201312 yr It's time the BBC got some +1 channels like ITV has. They come in very handy when programmes clash as you can watch the ITV or Ch.4 one on +1. There is no need for '+1' channels, there is iPlayer which allows you to catch-up quickly.
March 5, 201312 yr Author There is no need for '+1' channels, there is iPlayer which allows you to catch-up quickly. Yes that's all well and good if it works properly but BBC I-Player for me always stops and starts, or the picture is frozen and the sound continues, and we're on 80meg Fibre-optic BB so nothing to do with our connection. :(

There's really no reason to complain about missing programmes in this day and age. I thought the first two episodes were rather slow, but I am enjoying the premise. I think they went a bit overboard with the sound-bedding though, the creepy/chilling music is far too often played - a child's going to bed, SCARY; mum's making breakfast, SCARY. I am interested to see how they conclude it though.
March 7, 201312 yr Author So she's dead then. Anyone care to guess who may have done it? Lots of suspects but I'm leaning towards her sister now, maybe jealousy of her.
March 7, 201312 yr So she's dead then. Anyone care to guess who may have done it? Lots of suspects but I'm leaning towards her sister now, maybe jealousy of her. Can only be her sister I reckon. Everyone else is dead or too obvious. Plus that was the definitely the sister with a wig on at the train station.
March 7, 201312 yr It could still turn out to be Malcolm Spicer. After all, his supposed back injury doens't seem to have stopped him hanging himself.
March 7, 201312 yr Another question. What is the link between Spicer and Linus? Might Spicer have been Linus's real father?

March 7, 201312 yr Author Another question. What is the link between Spicer and Linus? Might Spicer have been Linus's real father? Well the general consensus over on the DS thread is that Spicer and Linus were cyber-sexing and that's what the money is, a payment for that. So that could be how Linus knows Malcolm only liked boys!! In the first episode we saw Linus at his PC with his shirt off. Yeah you may be right about him being his secret son. Someone did think that too. According to one newspaper today, the ending is "reasonably satisfying but still leaves some loose ends" Edited March 7, 201312 yr by Common Sense
March 7, 201312 yr Don't think Malcolm killed himself. Reckon his son might have something to do with it aswell. Thought the show starts off really poorly, but the last 2 episodes have been really good.
March 8, 201312 yr So what did we think to the ending then? I quite enjoyed it. A nice twist, after I thought she'd do it, then changed my mind, then saw the wife had actually set up Everett. Still lots of niggling questions though, what happened to Seth and what was the CCTV footage all about. Wonder about these writers sometimes, especially when they have a set amount of episodes.
March 8, 201312 yr Author Not a bad ending. Suppose we've to assume that the dad killed Seth. The look on the killer cop's face when Caitlin rose past in Hattie's clothes!!
