Da Funk, Around The World, Digital Love, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Robot Rock should've been massive instead of 2-5 weeks top 40 :( And considering how much of a classic One More Time is now I wonder how it missed #1.

 

Unfortunately LeAnn Rimes got in the way.

 

There were a lot of great dance tracks around at the time in late 2000. "Kernkraft 400" had also reached #2 only a few months earlier, and "Silence" re-released by Delerium and Sarah McLachlan had also been at #3 in October.

Oh so they were stopped by LeAnn. I don't mind Can't Fight the Moonlight but One More Time is a million times better than it. Shame on the British public :angry:

Sadly I don't think Daft Punk will get number 1 next week either. I could be wrong, but they're already starting to fall slightly and the sales week hasn't even started yet :(

Love seeing Daft Punk at no.1. Though I wish it were with some of their older stuff. Why oh why did Digital Love stall at 14?

2000 was a classic year - Storm Time to Burn as well!!

Not the biggest Daft Punk fan, but I don't find them overrated. Thought I'd refresh my memory of their more unknown songs/songs that I can't remember (but once I youtube them, apparently I DO know them :lol:) and then do a rate!

OK, just checked and we were both wrong, it was Wednesday 5th October :P

Elton John's Candle In The Wind '97 was released on a Saturday and made number 1 the next day.

I think that Pink Released So What on a friday charted on the sunday (around No 39) and then went up to number one the following week back in 2008

Also Lily Allen released smile on a friday and went to number one the following week
