I really hope that 'Waiting All Night doesn't outsell 'Feel the Love' in the long run. :(

It won't. For a start, Waiting All Night won't have anywhere near the amount of airplay that Feel The Love has had, which is essential for deciding how much a song eventually sells in the long run these days.

Don't get too excited, it's really not gonna make the Top 20 :P

It's top 40 with only being C-Listed on R1 so don't rule it out. Plus it's got the ME version yet to be released.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm guessing the EP has a big part in the large sales so that will inevitably drop off over time.

The Missy version was released today for some reason, it now has 2 versions in the top 40 on iTunes so will probably quite easily go top 20 this week.

There's no way 'Waiting All Night' will outsell 'Feel The Love', I think it'll do about as well as 'I Could Be The One' but with at least one if not two more weeks at #1 due to lack of competition.

Looks like Buble should beat Justin Timberlake to get the highest first-week sales of the year, although it probably won't do much more than about 120k.... I still think that's a little underwhelming considering he's sold almost 5m albums in the past 4 years, but I suppose what others were saying about acts like him not really shifting huge numbers outside of Xmas is true.

Judging by my estimates, this is what some of the singles and albums in this week's chart are going to sell this week:

Rudimental feat Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night 100,800

Will.I.Am feat Justin Bieber - #thatPOWER 61,600

Michael Buble - To Be Loved 121,600

HOW EXCITING.

Good sales for 'Waiting All Night', I still much prefer 'Feel the Love' and 'Not Giving In' so I echo the comments that it won't/shouldn't outsell the former. It's the best out of the other two closest competition so I'll be glad to see it at number one. PSY's 'Gentleman' is just a crap version of 'Gangnam Style', no way this will manage half the success that did. Happy that Calvin and Ellie's 'I Need Your Love' is looking to reach the Top 10, along with the big climb for 'Can't Hold Us'; hopefully another big hit for Macklemore.

Not surprised by the Top 3 albums, I just wish Music Week had told how much Fall Out Boy were ahead of Emeli Sande just to assure whether or not they are at risk of losing their #2 debut. I'd imagine it should hold on though. Shame to see Paramore dropping 1-7, but it was to be expected. Yeah Yeah Yeah's will probably fall but I wouldn't rule out another album getting a boost to keep Paramore at #7.

Probably because it hasn't been released as a single. I still think it was a bizarre decision to release 'Can't Hold Us' over it, but luck seems to be on his side...

Future global smash is not what I call "bizarre". It's gonna be big everywhere, Can't Hold Us that is.

Interesting that Ding Dong is not in top 40 after being top ten on iTunes on Sunday.

Edited by SKOB

Surely that's gonna break the record on Sunday for biggest fall from #2?

If it's outside the Top 40 already, that's the record beaten already - previous record 2-40 by Rage Against The Machine.

Ding Dong 2-OUT  its probably 50 something, but I wouldn't be surprised the track will not feature inside the top 100 by Sunday.

Still awaiting MW mid report

It would be the biggest fall from the chart in the modern era. "Weightless" by Wet Wet Wet went 10-OUT in 2008, and "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley went 5-OUT due to some stupid chart exclusion rule in 2006, but other than that no other singles in the Top 10 have dropped out of the chart the following week.

Possibly the weirdest ever dropout though was Diana Decker's "Poppa Piccolino" which also went 2-OUT in the 1950s, but the chart was only 12 positions long back then and re-entered the chart a few weeks later. :P

Alex Day 'Forever Yours' and Leeds United Team & Supporters 'Leeds, Leeds, Leeds (Marching On Together)' have gone 4-x and 10-x respectively in the last few years. Nelly Furtado's 'Maneater' also dropped out from the top 10 due to the same stupid rule as 'Crazy'.

As people were saying above Waiting all Night wont do as well as Feel the love. My reasoning goes that

1) Its not as good a song

2) Feel the Love was given massive pre-release support by radio 1 then commercial radio jumped on board when it became massive which helped pro long its top 40 life a bit like White Noise this year.

3) Rudimental's album is released next week which is why they have lost one sale from me as i shall be buying that - and i cant wait to hear it!!

Update is in, sorry for the hol up, give me a min.

Good to see Haim looking like getting a 3rd top 40 week., Mat Zo seems to be higher today and thought FOB would return to the top 40 because of the album being out. Is Jakwob still in the 40?
I wonder where or even if Daft Punk will chart this week.

Buble achieves highest first-week sales of career

by Paul Willams

Michael Buble's To Be Loved is heading for No 1 in the UK this Sunday having already achieved the highest first-week sales of his career.

With two days of trading still to go, the Reprise/Warner Bros album had sold 92,226 copies by the end of business on Thursday, according to the Official Charts Company. That already beats the Canadian's previous best opening tally of 78,006 with Crazy Love in October 209, while his last album Christmas started with 53,736 sales in October 2011.

However, both his last albums clocked up higher tallies a number of weeks after being released with Crazy Love shifting 251,843 copies during 2009's main Christmas shopping week and its follow-up Christmas attracting 317,114 buyers over the corresponding week in 2011.

Some 70,000 sales behind Buble currently at No 2 is Save Rock And Roll, the new album from Def Jam/Virgin EMI's Fall Out Boy, while Polydor act Yeah Yeah Yeahs' newly-issued Mosquito is new at 7. Virgin act Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events climbs 4-3 with sales up 80% to swap places with Pink's RCA album The Truth About Love, while fellow RCA release The 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake falls 2-5. Parmore's self-titled Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen album is now down to 6 after debuting at 1 last Sunday.

Rudimental are heading for their second No1 on the singles chart with the Asylum-issued Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre more than 25,000 sales ahead currently of its closest rival, will.i.am's new Interscope/Polydor single Thatpower featuring Justin Bieber. Ministry of Sound's Need U (100 Percent) by Duke Dumont featuring A*M*E drops to 3 having secured a second week at the top last Sunday, while Pink's RCA track Give Me A Reason featuring Nate Ruess is down 3-4. The Pitbull single Feel This Moment featuring Christina Aguilera and released by J/MR 305/Polo Grounds holds at 5.

Meanwhile, Gangnam Style star PSY will remove any one hit-wonder status he still has this weekend with his new Republic/Island single Gentleman having vaulted 61-9 in the midweeks.

I predict that Michael Buble's album will sell 111,000 copies and Fall Out Boy's album will sell 27,000 copies.

That's surprisingly specific. :)
