Posted April 19, 201312 yr There’ll be no raining on Rachel Berry's parade, not for another two years anyway. In a surprise twist, Fox has renewed Glee for not one but two more seasons. The pick-up ensures that the musical-comedy will be around through Season 6. In a statement accompanying the announcement, Fox president Kevin Reilly credited exec producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto "and the entire Glee team" for delivering "a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show… I'm absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons."http://tvline.com/2013/04/19/glee-renewed-season-5-and-6/
April 19, 201312 yr Weird. I'm glad that it's still going to be on, but the characters are clearly not ageing by the looks of this series - will Brittany still be there at the end of season 6?!
April 19, 201312 yr Oh f***ing hell, I think I'll give up after this season, its a chore to watch lately.
April 20, 201312 yr I think this probably will be the end for Glee. I dread to think why Ryan Murphy is going to do with the next two seasons. I really don't rate him as a show runner at all.
April 21, 201312 yr Oh f***ing hell, I think I'll give up after this season, its a chore to watch lately. This. Glee is by far the worst show I'm watching but not for much longer.
April 21, 201312 yr I was lucky enough to give up watching at the end of 2011 :D What are they even going to do in those two seasons WOT. Ideally the series really should've finished after season 2 or 3 MAX.
April 24, 201312 yr This should've ended last year. It's hideous NOW, god knows how awful it'll be by the END!
April 24, 201312 yr It's been too highly rated to axe, as advertising cash counts for more than quality. I think this will be heading to Fridays, at least for season 6. They need that post Idol slot to launch a new show, not use it to prop Glee up to a 2.0. I know AI isn't the powerhouse it once was but it's just pissing away the highest rated lead-in on Fox. It worked well with the Tuesday comedy block but I think The Voice would just kill it the same way Grey's has been. 9pm on Monday's would slaughter it and it's a horrific mismatch with the Monday lead-in Bones. I think it'd be a cult Friday hit tbh.
May 14, 201312 yr Next season will have a S1-esque hiatus, running into the start of June. There's also going to be a "creative twist", speculated to be some kind of split but I feel like the only one on Twitter who favours Lima scenes over NY and I don't know if I could be motivated to watch NY-only episodes. :(
June 26, 201312 yr Next season will have a S1-esque hiatus, running into the start of June. There's also going to be a "creative twist", speculated to be some kind of split but I feel like the only one on Twitter who favours Lima scenes over NY and I don't know if I could be motivated to watch NY-only episodes. :( I'm really not a fan of NY-only episodes, I like Rachel and Kurt but it's far too much of them and not enough Santana. If it's mostly new students in Lima though I won't be interested in that either, I only really Marley and Kitty since Blaine and Tina will be gone.
July 20, 201312 yr Production on the upcoming season has been delayed until early August (two weeks later than scheduled I've read) and the season premiere has been pushed back a week to September 26th. Very surprised by how quick they're still rushing it out, I expected them to wait at least until after the Baseball/November time.
July 20, 201312 yr I'm quite surprised by that too, when I saw the headline on DS I thought 'oh it's gonna be a long wait!' and I expected them to delay by at least a month.
July 21, 201312 yr Just read a bit of a Ryan Murphy interview, he said that an upcoming episode (the third in the series) will deal with the death of Finn's character and that will be followed by a long hiatus during which they'll decide how to move on from there, which might explain the initial less than expected delay. I think it's the right thing to do; Ryan said that it was impossible to get Finn's death written and shot in time for it to be the season opener so even with just 3 episodes it seems right for everyone to have a break then.
July 21, 201312 yr If it does air 3 episodes then head off on Hiatus it wont be back for like 6months.
