If this is the case, surely Kylie herself will see she needs to change her direction. There is no possibility Kylie can be happy with any of the outcomes from the Kiss Me Once sales performance. When Kylie toured the Intimate and Live Shows, she said it was there she knew what her audience wanted as they reacted so well to her pop numbers and that is what made her return to her roots. This is another time where Kylie needs to listen to her fans again.

 

And do what exactly? A heavy metal album?

A good solid pop album with hit songs would be my suggestion. Kiss Me Once is extremely poor in comparison to previous albums with Parlophone. There is not one single song that stands out as a big hit single, the videos are cheap and forgettable and the marketing is a complete mess. Do the complete reverse of all that with strong promotion and things could do nothing but improve.

If she had finished Waiting 4 The Sun and released it, she'd have a double platinum album by now and another #1 single :smoke:

Kiss me once suffers from the same problem as X - both albums lack direction and have omitted some of the better tracks recorded from each era. Into the blue was a good single but let down by a poor video and poor promotional campaign. I don't know what the future holds for Kylie - it will certainly be more difficult for her to have hits but this isn't helped by her style of music at present. She needs to do something more credible and reflective of her age.

Just because she is in her 40's doesn't mean she can't sing about having fun or sex, it's not like she is over the hill y'know. She's not quite at the point where she needs to record

some dark indie song about hot flashes and going grey.

I just think she needs a fresher sound - 'Into the Blue' is a great song but something she's done many times before. I disagree - Sexercise is pretty awful and totally cringy. I don't get the idea of her doing this at all.

Kylie is a very attractice woman with a fab body, it's not cringy to see her sing about sex or do videos along the line of Sexercise, it's more believable than her

dressed super conservatively and singing about the school run or about getting older. She's got it, she flaunts it, even as a gay man, I find her super hot :lol:

I'd say the video was somewhat shocking in terms of this not being a side to Kylie we've seen in her videos, which may be the reason why some dislike it, but to me the video was nicely put together and it doesn't come across as slutty or desperate or anything negative like that.

I don't think its a very good song for starters - the lyrics are a bit shallow and I'd describe it as a bit "desperate" - its like she is trying to appeal to younger teens market but it doesn't suit her at all and not very credible or mature for her age. Madonna tried the same sort of thing on MDNA and it was a disaster too. I think Kylie should be "pop kylie" and not "sex kylie".

The unthinkable has happened.....I officially now find Sexy Love BEARABLE and semi-enjoyable. It's a nice song to have while surfing through tumblr.
