That's not quite right for Gotye. He had a week at number 1, then dropped down to #3, then returned to number 1 for 4 weeks. :)

Ahh yes.

Still a run of 1 then a run of 4 so the same number of weeks just the other way round. :P

50. Birdy - People Help The People (Hopefully this drops to around 70 come Saturday so it misses the top 40 overall)

As much as I'd rather "Misery Business" staying their biggest seller, I'd be quite happy to see "Still Into You" overtake it if it means it goes top 10.
Get Lucky is getting used on BBC1 as a theme tune :D to the Radio 1 roadshow starting next week from Friday

What's so bad about that? The Chart Show is shite these days anyway. LISTEN TO THE BIG TOP 40.

Is this the Radio 1 Big Weekend that's in Derry / Londonderry? God 'ole politically correct BBC, i mean it's 'Derry' quite obviously but yes let's call it both to keep everyone happy and not blowing everyone up.

You may as well create a random playlist of 40 songs that Capital play instead of listening to the Big Top 40.

I'd like to think that we've moved beyond the point of blowing each other up just because of how we say that name of that county (I say Derry because a) It sounds better, and b) because of my cultural upbringing).

The biggest scandal about the Radio 1 Big Weekend is the fact that not one single artist playing at the festival is from Derry, and only one is from Northern Ireland (a jam jar to the person who guesses who it is without looking). It's not as if Derry is devoid of talent - in the past year several artists from there have been playlisted on Radio 1, like Wonder Villains, SOAK & Little Bear. Given that the whole point of holding the Big Weekend in Derry is to tie in with being the UK City of Culture for 2013, it is a glaring oversight.

The only acts that have a chance of getting a boost from the Radio 1 weekend are.... (BBC3 Tweeted who and what time their showing artists)

Saturday 25th May

7pm - The Saturdays & Ellie Goulding

8pm - Laura Mvula & Labrinth

9pm - Rudimental & Biffy Clyro

Sunday 26th May

7pm - Olly Murs & The Script

8pm - Dizzee Rascal & Bastille

9pm - Paramore & Bruno Mars

They normally show a song from a couple of other artists within those hours as well. The named artists just mean they'll be showing ~3-4 of their songs.

Olly Murs is really doing excellently :o It is his best single by far off this album though imo.

That is quite disappointing really, it would have been nice to introduce some new bands like Not Squares.
