I really can't see the John Newman song going to #1. Has it even had much airplay yet?

It seems like it's getting good support from Radio 1 already, should hopefully be on their playlist in a few weeks (my hopes of it getting #1 is just my attempt at being optimistic!)

Zane Lowe played it three times in one show when he debuted it. R1 is going to push it hard.

They often do that when they premiere songs, they sometimes even play it back-to-back 2 or 3 times, so you have like 10 mintues solid of the song (with the DJ shouting over it at random moments so people won't radio rip it lol).

Do people seriously still record tracks off the radio?

That's like me in 1980!

Demi is now down to #6, ouch!

She's held up incredibly well compared to what I expected, especially as her pre-orders and iTunes peak near enough matched 'Boomerang's. :cheer: The Radio 1 and Capital airplay must be really helping!

Radio rips are all over the internet if that's the only way how you can get hold of a song. It's just a lot easier to access now. I do think that John Newman song will be massive though. Especially at it's current release date. It'll do very similarly to 'Feel The Love' I think.
I think Macklemore will climb back to #3 by Sunday. I'm hoping Wretch 32 still has a shot at overtaking Demi, he is currently very slightly ahead combined and probably has been for a while. Demi most likely built up enough of a lead over him at the start of the week to stay securely ahead though.

I think Macklemore will be #3, Demi #4 and Wretch #6 (or maybe #5).

 17. We Own It (Fast & Furious) [feat. Wiz Khalifa] - 2 Chainz

Looks like this may be coming for the top 10! Eric must be having a heart attack right now.

Please God, NO! :(

I think the winning song from Eurovision (The Denmark Song) will be in the top 10 of iTunes between tonight and tomorrow at some stage.

I know that we will probably be wanting to compare Eurovision iTunes positions after tonight to previous years so here are a couple of threads that will be the most interesting to compare with:

The week after 2012 final (27th May to 2nd June)

EDF Energy must have had a field day during this week with the number of posts and pages that were made. I wonder which individual poster made the most posts that week?

Yeah, at first, because after a radio premiere that's the only version of the song available and the first time people can hear it, so usually people record it off the radio and put it on the Internet.

lmao. I was so shocked to see this. I'm glad they chose 2 Chainz to do the song. He's on many amazing songs which I wish would be in the charts.

210. Bad Meets Evil - Fast Lane

Never expected to see this in the chart again! :o  Is it discounted?

No, that would make too much sense to their record label.

I really don't see why people are hyping up Union J as a potential #1. Where exactly was this "huge fanbase" they supposedly have when they were coming in the bottom two of X Factor every other week? And it's not like their song itself is getting much exposure either. I expect a #6 debut or something before a swift fall out of the chart.

Are both radio 1 & capital not playing it?
