Good episode this week with a really scary and original concept to it. I'd assumed it was going to be a silly episode given the setting and the inclusion of Frank Skinner but actually the narrow setting of the Orient Express worked perfectly for the story as it emphasised the sense that you really couldn't get away in a way that a more open setting may have lost. I'd have happily watched it for longer with more people being picked off one at a time and the doctor and everyone else learning slightly more each time it happened. Really not sure what Gus was there for (aside from to act as a reason that they couldn't all just teleport away maybe?) but it didn't matter in the end.

Like Chez a few posts above, I did feel it was all resolved a little too suddenly but I guess the soldier/doctor commanding him thing did fit in with the themes of the series so far. Plus I'm slightly gutted that the resolution makes it difficult to use the Foretold again, especially as it was my favourite new 'monster' for quite some time. The 66 second rule will be significantly less scary if you know you can carry on making your dinner and just utter 3 words quickly towards the end.

This week's episode was amazing. It is my second favourite of the series, only behind 'Listen' which is a masterpiece. My rank so far..

01. Listen

02. Mummy on the Orient Express

03. Deep Breath

04. Time Heist

05. Into The Dalek

06. Kill The Moon

07. Robot of Sherwood

08. The Caretaker

It's been quite a strong and consistent series so far.

just watched it, great to look at, loved the character interplay, though plotwise, errr it laid an egg. The Doctor has interfered throughout his existence in other worlds, a bit late in the day to suddenly take a back seat. The growth/ loss of the moon as if it would just affect the tides and thats it is just silly. Where'd the mass come from? You don't get something from nothing a growing baby would just take up more room or absorb what was available around it. The moon has kept the Earth stable presumably the sudden removal, even if for only minutes, would be catastrophic in the real physics-based world. It was just very silly all round.

OH MY GOD LOLOLOLOLOLO!!!!!!!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Doctor Who is officially SHIT!

The moon being removed from the world would be, for sure, catastrophic in every sense of the world. Without the moon, life would not be possible.

The likelihood of the Doctor not doing anything to protect Earth which he said time and time again 'is protected' (by him, presumably), is insane and goes against everything the series stood for.

What a joke.

Sooo in Doctor Who there is ... now no moon?

Christ!

POINTLESS MICHAEL RANT

Maybe if you watched it instead of over-reacting you might learn a thing or two. Though, I doubt it.

my posts are SHIT!

For peace sake change the record act your own age not your shoe size :(

It's supposed to be a show about science, so if it gets basic science wrong, such as with the relationship between the planets, then it loses all credibility and is doing a disservice to the public by peddling such bad science about.

It's called science fiction.

The Moon isn't a planet, Michael.

I was generalising.

Yes, but science fiction is based on science, and therefore that science has to be sound for continued suspension of disbelief rather than just pure disbelief!

Generalising when you yourself were being pedantic about scientific facts? Yeah….ok.

But like I said, the science between interplanetary arrangements is not something that can be changed, it's just too huge a scientific concept, especially when treating with planet Earth! If it were based on an uninhabited planet with a moon, then fine, or a planet with two moons, otherwise it comes off as maximum cheesy, particularly given the fact the Doctor would protect Earth in any way he could. That's always been the deal!

Why not actually watch the episode then get some of your facts straight? Instead of basing your trolling on incorrect assumptions about what the episode was about?

I can't watch it and can only go off any reviews I might see/ what people say here!

However, I'm right in talking about the faulty science even without seeing it.

Why can't you watch it? This makes your ranting totally invalid and pointless  Your facts about the episode are not right. Go away and watch it.

Watchseries.it, putlocker, etc. are all out there... probably waiting to buffer especially for you, Michael x
It doesn't let you watch iplayer outside the UK!

Where are you then Michael? I was sure you were in the UK before?

The point you missed is that the Earth wasn't going to survive without the moon as it had no gravity. A creature 'hatched' from it and left behind a new 'egg' or moon. So, moon restored and science (very loosely) all good.

For the record, I thought it was a bit of a daft premise, but each to their own.

Oh, right.

Still sounds ridiculous!

I work nearly all year on the continent these days :P I pop back now and then, Christmas, August, etc.

Oh I wan't deny I also thought that episode was a bit ridiculous in parts, but some of it was excellent. The one just aired (Mummy on the Orient Express) was really good, so catch it if you can.

Where are you right now then?
