August 31, 201410 yr Overnight ratings = 5.2m Eek. There's often a big drop from the opening episode and it'll gain ~2m in the final ratings but still, it's only the second episode and it was a Dalek one!

August 31, 201410 yr Quite fancy seeing a straightforward daleks attempt to take over storyline again. the theme has been done to death. -x- That was an incredible episode! I feared that going back to 45 minutes would give us a badly paced episode like most of series 7, but it was actually really well done. It reminded me a lot of 'The Waters of Mars' at times (more-so than 'Dalek'). Clara's home life was well presented as well without seeming like something that was just there to fill time - and it was a nice introduction for Danny. Looking forward to seeing him again. They really are getting this series spot on so far - the Doctor's development in particular (as well as Clara's). Am I the only one REALLY excited for 'Robot of Sherwood' though?! Judging my next time trailers alone it looks like Mark Gatiss may possibly, for once, have written a fairly fantastic historical. And it doesn't look like a filler episode at all, lol.
August 31, 201410 yr I wish you just sod off Just ignore him, everyone else is not reacting to his attempts to troll.
August 31, 201410 yr Just watched this and it was okay but nothing special and I doubt I'll particularly remember it by the end of the series. It frustrated me a bit how they all fell into the gunk caused by the depositing of dead humans for a few reasons... firstly just how would the antibodies have killed so many people before the first one, it's hardly like the dalek is going to have been continually under attack by mini people entering it... secondly they were covered head to toe in that gunk and then miraculously were well turned out again from the very next scene onwards! Then the antibodies were sold to us initially as being completely independent from the dalek's mind and even the doctor commented that nobody controls their own antibodies... before changing everything at the end when the antibodies retreated after the dalek's memories were altered and were being shot at by a more important character. Plus there's no way the doctor (or any of the others for that matter) would heal the dalek without having already thought of a plan b in case the obvious happened. I know I'm being over analytical with all of this but it just didn't feel like something that he would have done at all. I am quite intrigued by the heaven sections. Especially as there's so much tea and cake on offer. Edited August 31, 201410 yr by مدهش*
August 31, 201410 yr I didn't, just read the Buzzjack reviews! And that was enough! :puke: #AXE Edited August 31, 201410 yr by Rate Slayerrrrrr
August 31, 201410 yr I really enjoyed it, though I agree with Dandy about the Plan B, it was very obvious that's what was likely to happen, and all I kept thinking was, well open up the bloody crack in the wall again then, let the radiation out, and push off - they DID have pretty big guns and a sonic screwdriver (having just sealed it up)
August 31, 201410 yr Yes I kept thinking that also! Plus I thought it was rubbish that they completely skipped out how they returned so quickly to their normal size, ne'ermind about how they got out of the dalek in the first place and, while we're at it, why the Daleks are built with walkways inside them! August 31, 201410 yr Because the episode made no sense. No part of that concept can possibly make sense, time travelling supermen aside, in the Doctor Who universe that would make no sense. Walkways and bunches of suddenly small people attacking a Dalek? This show really has jumped the show. I might watch the end episode and that's it. I'm really not surprised this episode flopped, almost down to Celebrity Wrestling figures. Consider this: if the rebrand has been aimed at young viewers, then WHY do they no longer have a young doctor? Scottish, male and a little kooky. They have not been imaginative at all with their choice of doctors when they could have made history instead, Catherine Tate for example!
August 31, 201410 yr firstly just how would the antibodies have killed so many people before the first one, it's hardly like the dalek is going to have been continually under attack by mini people entering it... I'd be inclined to believe that people have been miniaturised before and entered the Dalek - they've just never been presented with the opportunity to heal its wound because they've been eradicated by the antibodies first. (Why are we all using spoiler tags?)

(Why are we all using spoiler tags?) But it was sold as though it was protein that the Dalek needed to survive... Something that they all would have to have if this were true. I should add that I didn't hate the episode as such, not sure why this one seemed to stand out to me as being so unlikely when it's hardly that far removed from the usual stories but it just did for some reason.
September 1, 201410 yr I liked the second episode and I think Peter Capaldi is potentially going to be my favourite Doctor (well its going to be hard to beat David Tennant but we'll see!) The pace of the episode was good and I'm looking forward to seeing how the heaven sequences build to the finale. It's nice to see Moffatt include this as its something Russell T Davies did really well in his time Looking forward to next week! I'll give the episode a 7/10
September 3, 201410 yr But it was sold as though it was protein that the Dalek needed to survive... Something that they all would have to have if this were true. My understanding was that perhaps the Dalek (rather than the antibodies) absorbs the human protein after it kills someone, it didn't necessarily have to be someone who was inside the Dalek at the time! I do agree with your other niggles though. I really enjoyed the first episode but I found this one to be a bit dull at times. I felt like it was setting us up for the fact that the Doctor has a darker side, but I think we kind of knew that already so it wasn't necessary. I'm intrigued by Missy though, she seems to be collecting people that have died because of the Doctor. INTERESTING.
September 6, 201410 yr Well that was pretty grim this week, unfortunately. The doctor got soaking wet again. That's three out of three episodes now isn't it? Is this a new THING? Plus. No tea and cake this week. :(
September 6, 201410 yr I'll take a stab in the dark here and say I was the only one that genuinely thought that episode was amazing! Really felt like a proper historical this time, as opposed to a historical overshadowed by a big measure of 'Doctor Who' blended in. The pacing was a bit slow at the very start, but once it got in the swing of things it was a really fun episode (even if the robots seemed 100% secondary in the grand scheme of things). Shame there was no heaven this week though. :( 'Listen' looks bloody fantastic *.*
