Liquid Lunch in at #91 for Caro Emerald, SURELY this will be her highest peaking single to date? Great to see Texas in the top 100 too, sounded like a #700 smash!

It happened with some songs like Rolling in the Deep and Next to Me, where the albums get released and the album versions go top 10 and overtake the single versions, which then drop out (or get deleted because the record label panics :lol:).

I never really get why labels delete the single version when they see an album version doing well. Multiple versions help keep songs in the chart for longer (i.e. Chris Malinchak is still #9 officially thanks to a second version). I mean the NOW-boost isn't a myth!

 

Loving the album version of "Get Lucky" though, I can see why people are willing to buy in to it.

Caro up to #75, Texas up to #85! :D Liquid Lunch would be a great first proper hit single for her.

Wow at Caro - she seems to be quite good at consistently getting "hits" (low top 100 at least) despite the complete lack of appeal to R1/Capital.

 

Passenger is still gaining on Daft Punk combined despite them now having 2 entries in the top 4. I could see 'Let Her Go' overtaking 'Get Lucky' in a week or two.

Looks like Van Morrison will finally go top 75 with 'Brown Eyed Girl' this week then after reaching #77 last week. '99 Problems' will get a fifth consecutive week in the chart from the 59p boost, unusual as that usually only keeps songs around for 2 or 3 weeks unless there's something else holding them up! Great to see 'Pack Up' back in the chart, even if I'm probably now the only person that likes it. And the return of one of the least successful #1s of all time at #127 :o

Is there anything in particular (like a performance) that's making 'Liquid Lunch' jump so fast? It seems weird that someone who's never been a singles-seller at all is jumping 10+ places within a few hours.
