May 21, 201313 yr Emmelie top 5 is amazing!! Should end up top 15 at least then! The other 3 Eurovision songs I presume is Euphoria, I Feed You My Love and Tomorrow. Unless I'm missing out someone completely obvious!

Unless I'm missing out someone completely obvious! I don't see how 'Euphoria' would be there? I'd guess 'I Feed You My Love', 'Tomorrow' and 'You' scraping in at ~#40. I could see them all being in the 36-40 section today and all dropping out by tomorrow though so we'll probably never know. Great to see Emmelie top 5 anyway, hope she can hold onto top 10 somehow but top 15 would be good as well. 80k first day for Daft Punk should hopefully mean they're on for comfortably 200k+ for the full week :D Should be the highest non-Q4 sales week since '21' with ease (and in fact higher than any of the Q4 #1 sales last year). The thing about it outselling Oasis was obviously bullshit. No shock. Still doing exceedingly well. Edited May 21, 201313 yr by Bré
May 21, 201313 yr I was only guessing, but 'Euphoria' did reach around #48 and had around 3 versions charting (not sure how highly). I'd say that is more likely than 'You' whose highest version didn't get any further than #75 even though the second version was higher than 'Euphoria's. You are probably right though. :kink:
May 21, 201313 yr Oh, I didn't know 'Euphoria' had more than one version. You may be right then. 'You' probably isn't far outside the top 40 even so though. It might even be the fourth track over 'I Feed You My Love' which only had 1 version and didn't go higher than #39 on iTunes. @ Gezza: Daft Punk selling 2/3 of their first week sales in a day seems quite unlikely  (I realise you made that post before the sales came in). May 21, 201313 yr Don't most albums, even considering pre-orders, have a multiplier from Tuesday to Sunday of at least 3x? DP will clear 200k even if they only have 2.5x and I don't think this album will be particularly mega frontloaded. (I don't know though, it's been a while since the last time the average multiplier was mentioned in here, I might be remembering it wrong).

Just looked back into the iTunes thread and Euphoria's other versions were considerably lower than I thought (below #500), so you must be right that 'You' is the other one! The next closest would've been 'Marry Me' and 'Birds' when combined I think but there is no way they will be near the top 40.
May 21, 201313 yr I really hope Emelee can stay top 10, its a great song. I further hope Daft Punk get massive sales, while it is not an album i would buy myself the albums market needs it.
May 21, 201313 yr DAFT PUNK MORE LIKE DAFT FLOP OMG ONLY 80K SOLD WHEN IT WAS PREDICTED TO OUTSELL OASIS' TOTAL IN A WEEK Back in the real world, those are amazing sales! Hopefully 200k by the end of the week, I didn't believe that it had a chance of outselling Oasis' first week sales for a second.
May 21, 201313 yr Well, looking back at the week Justin Timberlake released his album (which I think is the closest parallel), the first sales info of the week had him at 57k in the Wednesday mids, and he roughly doubled that by the end of the week -- so if Daft Punk are over 100k in tomorrow's update then that should mean they'll safely pass 200k for the week. If it does it, it'll be the first album to sell over 200k in a week since Michael Buble and Amy Winehouse did it in Xmas week 2011. Edited May 21, 201313 yr by Danny
May 21, 201313 yr The worst thing is that everyone will think that this album is a failure now when it isn't. :(

Particularly in the current album market where album sales are declining!
May 21, 201313 yr 80k in two days is hardly a flop! Particularly in the current album market where album sales are declining! Does no-one in the chart forum understand sarcasm? :( Even when I clearly said that Daft Punk's sales were very good.

May 21, 201313 yr Author It's not "huge" as the thread title suggests though! ;) Well its open sales are huge, when compared to previous albums released this year, what other album has had open sales in its first week IN 2013. Go figure.
