Did you bare in mind pre-orders with you calculations? Yeah, I agree with you. It's pretty crazy how two massive selling songs have come out after each other. :o When was the last time two separate songs (or #1s, if you will) sold 150k within a few weeks of each other outside of Q4? Sales being higher at the top in Q4 is more of an albums thing than a singles thing. I suppose sales for singles are higher in December and the start of January due to the XF and charity singles then the gift card boost. In any case, there was Gary Barlow, Cheryl Cole and Maroon 5 on consecutive weeks selling 141k, 152k and 141k last year. Not quite 150k but a comparable string of huge sellers (and there should be a third one this time as well in the form of Robin Thicke). Before that it would go back to Alexandra Burke and Cheryl Cole (again) in 2009 selling 187k and 292k respectively on consecutive weeks!
May 22, 201313 yr I hope Demi can just grab a Top 5 with her new album and surely that AWFUL Eurovision song will let Demi's 'Heart Attack' back into the top 10. I don't want it having a chart run of 03-11. Almost certainly won't happen, new entries never improve on their midweek positions.

May 22, 201313 yr I'm still quiet surprised by the success by the Eurovision entry from Malta, I did and still do like the song but didn't expect it to do as well as it did and certainly didn't see it challenging for a top 40 position this week.

May 22, 201313 yr 77k is fantastic for the first midweeks. 150k should be very likely, hopefully more. I can see the song selling a shitload too. Probably won't catch up to Daft Punk any time soon though.

May 23, 201313 yr There is nothing that could stop 'Blurred Lines' getting to #1 next week in my opinion. This is the highest a single pre-order has ever got, even higher than 'Skyfall'!

I don't. :P Reason being 'La La La' won't have the added bonus of pre-order sales added to its second week of sales. If Naughty Boy is looking set to sell 150-160k this week, I predict next week it'll drop by at least 40% and sell around 90k. Can't see Naughty Boy getting two weeks over 100k anyways.

There's still the possibility of Pharrell being featured on the #1 and #2 tracks which would reflect a fair few other countries around the world atm. :D Depends on how quickly Naughty Boy decreases, and how much impact 'Get Lucky (Album Version)' has on the iTunes chart. I really thought the album version would've gone top 10 quicker than it did so who knows what'll happen next week.
