Yeah, agreed. SDF is amazing but judging by her usual output she won't be a winner.

Just so we can GAUGE the level of 'celebrity' the BBC are looking at this time round

In an interview with Spanish media agency “elcorteingles.es”, Ruth Lorenzo confirmed that she has been approached by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2014.

The Spanish singer that rose to popularity during her time on the UK X-Factor show in 2008 spoke to elcorteingles.es yesterday saying that

“It is true that I have received a formal proposal from the BBC this year to represent the UK”

Furthermore she continued in the interview to say that she had been asked several years before to take part in the Irish National Selection for Eurovision. However her interview yesterday was a clear sign that she does want to go to Eurovision but wants to represent her home country of Spain. She recognised that she is known more in the UK than in Spain but said

“I am clear that if I go to the Eurovision Song Contest, this year or not, it will be with the Spanish flag I know and love…I hope I made the right decision.”

This interview is a clear message to TVE in Spain that she wants to be their representative at Eurovision.

I would love to see Ruth Lorenzo at Eurovision. Easily my favourite x factor contestant ever. With the right song she could really rock it.

Funny to see Little Boots showing interest. It seems like the BBC are allergic to modern artists.

Little Boots confirmed in an interview a few months back that she wouldn't be interested in being the artist. LOL at the thought that she's modern these days though (well, compared to Bonnie and Engelbert YEAH, but she was cutting edge for about a week in early 2009 and that's it.)

Ruth Lorenzo? Are they taking the actual piss! Can eurovision just be given to ITV already? Please!

plus if spain don't want her she would be stupid to turn down the opportunity to represent the UK considering her career is dead in the water!

:cheer: If it's anything half as good as "Red Shoes" or "Remix", we have a chance of doing VERY WELL!

I would also love Ruth Lorenzo for Eurovision, she is also my fave X Factor contestant ever and its such a shame she had no success to follow, eurovision would at least give her an opportunity to register a top 75 hit. Also may pick the UK some extra votes from Spain and she would also be remembered by some here in Ireland.

Has there been any rumours at all surrounding Ruth???

Kitty Brucknell would actually put on a pretty impressive and OTT performance which I'm SURE will win some of Europe over! She actually has decent voice too. (Even when she was on X Factor - it's her gimmick that got her the novelty value/hate figure)
Kitty at Eurovisionw would give me life *.*
omg let it be true!
I don't particularly like the idea of kitty but she can sing and would bring an image ... But could the bbc pull their finger out and find a decent song when they couldn't even do it for jade ewen... I think not!

I can't see it happening at all, she's an ITV product and is only a rumour because she's pretty publicly BEGGING the BBC Eurovision account for it. Absolutely nothing to say they've considered her and I doubt they would personally. I wouldn't object though.

EDIT: Although I guess the ITV part could be dispelled through Andy Abraham.

The thing is no one else really knows Kitty so they don't know she's quite UNLIKEABLE. It could very much work if she's chosen and given a good song.
Kitty could work as she is eccentric and would put on a big performance im sure, while i would prefer Ruth Lorenzo i could see Kitty doing reasonably well at Eurovision.
Has there been any rumours at all surrounding Ruth???

For Spain, yes, she's quite strongly rumoured.

If Kitty did Eurovision I think we'd have a chance of doing really well! Plus I love Kitty, she's the perfect style of performer for Eurovision!
I think that could be the World Cup. She'd get a lot of hate, but I do love Jessie J, and she's a big name! Not that it matters at all whether we send Doreen Smith from Cardiff or Adele.
