Dream Beats is an alias of ale Kid! We can but dream... Then again they did give me my worst BJSC results ever...

But they gave me my best! :D (poor Feel 4 U :()

Anyway, this whole rumour mill finally really feels like it could be the right one - so if it is I'd be very much all for it if it sounds as competitive as they're describing. If it isn't... shit happens.

Yes, the BBC have written a news article about Molly here and ESC Today are also confirming Molly is the entrant here! :D

Clearly decided to be cautious far too late! :D

I'm pleased with that, an unknown is much better than a has-been.

Im getting more excited about this the closer it gets!

That seems like quite an inspired choice, she was pretty good on that Raindrops song with Sash (used to really like that song, I've not listened to it in years now!)

Now, they just need a good song.

Oh wow!

Not a retired singer then??

Thought they'd have gone with Tom Jones or someone.

Cue them choosin a boring ballad or super cheesy 70s song the public thinks still works in Eurovision

I'm thinking a more modern and up to date 'It's My Time' going by what we've read so far! Seeing as that got us a top 5 victory, I will be happy with that!
After reading Guy Freeman's blog entry I'm confident of a contemporary entry this year.

'It's My Time' was only average at best imo, so I think if anything that doing so well shows the UK really CAN potentially win if they finally got someone young with a good voice AND who also has a very good song.

Given the UK's had such a successful entry in the recent past which should've acted as a guide for the BBC of what roughly to aim for, it's really quite baffling that the choices in 2012 and 2013 were so comically awful (presumably they were just chosen to maximise UK ratings rather than a serious attempt to do well in the contest). Hopefully from the sound of things this year's is better.

If anything I'm shocked they've bothered changing tact. From the BBC point of view it made far more sense to send a famous dinosaur for ratings who never stood a chance of winning, saving them the potential cost of that. The prevalence of the 'it's all political!' crap meant the BBC were never really accountable for bad choices, so they could do that as long as they liked.

Not that I'm complaining at ALL about this volte-face *.*

I'd like to think the increasing rhetoric online of 'it's all about the song' when looking at winning entries from the past helped a bit. And that trotting out yet another old star to another disappointing finish for the UK is becoming a bit passé, and let's be honest, people are going to tune in if they think the UK has a chance of doing well rather than if we're in all likelihood just picking up fourteen points over the entire evening.

Because even in Eurovision, admittedly less so than in other nationalistic competitions, we very much like being competitive as a nation.
