Nope, the thought behind Scooch (as much as I love 'Flying The Flag (For You)') was that it was what Eurovision is all about - or something like that, John Barrowman's words, not mine!

Well it doesn't help if you're totally outplayed on that front either. Why vote for Scooch when you've got Verka?

Joe McElderry is being rumoured on Twitter.

I bloody hope not.

Apparently Honeyz were heavily rumoured a couple of nights ago but that seemed to end up being nothing.
Joe McElderry is being rumoured on Twitter.

I bloody hope not.

That'd be FABULOUS. We know he can sing at least.

Not that I'd endorse the idea, but Joe has won all the shows he's entered (X Factor, The Jump and Popstar To Operastar), so maybe he's a good luck charm  Eurovision is of course slightly bigger than a Saturday night tv show about opera singing though!

Joe would be quite good actually if he had something like this.

Certainly a better choice than Geri. It really won't work. People don't care how famous people used to be. We've tried it before.

Beverley Knight has had to announce she is not doing Eurovision on Twitter after Josh James (Josh Dubovie) has been tweeting to say he knows who the entry is which led to someone else tweeting Josh a list of names including Beverley. Josh has also been hinting that it may even be himself with a couple of his tweets which based on his most recent material would actually be a decent choice.

At least it seems that things are beginning to build up regarding whoever the UK artist is!

Also, a poster on Digital Spy has found that Josh has 'played a number of gigs with' and attended the same stage school as Stacey Solomon whose album release date is apparently rumoured for May 2014. Now she would be amazing!

I read Joe McElderry and thought 'no thanks'... but then I read the possibility of Josh Dubovie returning and all of a sudden Joe McElderry felt like Adele.

Josh Dubovie's not too bad. He was far better than the bollocks that prick Waterman lumped him with. With him it'd be a case where I wouldn't be over the moon but I'd judge it on the song rather than on anything else.

Hell, I'd probably take Josh over half the rumours we've had.

Stacey could work but her song would probably be a very dated ballad.

Joe has yet to have a decent song excluding ambitions so i presume anything he sang at eurovision would be awful.

Josh - Seriously? one of the worst entries we have EVER sent. He's hot but that's it - he's never going to be a successful popstar.

Honeyz - Dated/ Boring.

Hope none of these are true!

Well yeah but it's not as if Josh was much of the reason behind it being one of the worst entries we've ever sent.

I doubt he'd be our entry anyway. He already changed his stage name because the Eurovision flop tag was hurting him, so I'd be surprised if he went for it again.

Is it too much to ask for us to actually get to choose the Eurovision entry ourselves, rather than some invisible BBC bureaucrats and their proven appalling taste choosing for us?
I'd say the British public's taste is consistently more appalling. They're clueless on getting good results but the last three years have been by far the best run of entries we've sent since Gina G-Katrina-Imaani-Precious.
I think that the UK would probably be best with Little Boots or Geri Halwell. With really no chance at winning I hope they select some consistent artists who could possibly nab a high position.
Little Boots would be the best option as i can not see Geri Halliwell delivering a strong vocal unless it is a track that heavily features backing singers.
