Is it about my wrong English ? :(

My post was edited. Hope, that you understand my thought / opinion after this small correction. :)

Not at all, I'm just saying how small-minded you are. Your English is perfectly understandable :D

And the others don't...

Obviously it deserved the #1 more since it outsold all of them

The only fact there is that it outsold all of them, whether it 'deserved' it or not is completely subjective.

Usually the term "popular" is very equal with "the best" [it was true for long music charts history, before Internet era]

Especially if we talk about the artists from the one music genre. (For simple : Pop)

No. Unfortunately "popular" is rarely best.

It is nowhere near as bad as Ronan Keating or Westlife though.

The Ronan Keating song was better. I don't know the Westlife song, but there's are just bland, not necessarily bad. Alice Deejay is grating in the extreme...there are very few types of music worse than that kind of high-pitched, cheesy dance music. At least there was some structure to the Geri Halliwell song too.

I mean, all four tracks should be ignored, but Alice Deejay should be ignored more.

I know it was 12 years ago but it was such a good song, Shakira was blocked from being number one, first by Will Young and then by Gareth Gates, which was a pity as "Whenever Wherever" was a million times better than both songs and I still love the song and video. :D

You can love them, you can hate them, but Westlife is the best male group ever.

Replace 'best' with 'worst' and you're 100% right :D . What an awful cover band they were.

 This!

Erm.....no.

This.

Better :smoke:

No. Just no. We're not talking about how UNfortunate it was that this tripe made top 10 (or top 100) in the first place, we're talking about how fortunate we are it never troubled the top spot. The radio played it the other day and on the other side (two channels programmed) was Justin Timberlake! I thought we;d gone through all that a couple months back :puke2:

We have a rule in the English language where the word "amazing" is never used in association with Ronan Keating or Westlife.

This is a fact.

Yes yes, we get the point already.

By this point, he's not a broken record. He's permanently looped.

I know it eventually got to number 1 in the end but Olly Murs - 'Dance with Me Tonight' was kept off by the never-ending reign of Rihanna/Calvin Harris (I'm OK with hearing it now but I was fed up with that record by the time it'd kept JLS off the top a couple of weeks prior) and then by the X Factor Finalists' single from 2011.
I remember that week. One of the most competitive ever:

01 (NE) Just Lose It

02 (NE) Lose My Breath

03 (NE) My Prerogative - Britney Spears

04 (NE) Car Wash - Christina Aguilera f/Missy Elliott

09 (NE) Stop/DJ - Jamelia

They were ALL predicted as #1 contenders. The next time we would have a competitive week like that would have been in 2008 (the week "If I Were A Boy", "Womanizer", "The Boy Does Nothing", Leona's "Forgive Me" and Christina's "Keeps Gettin' Better" were released).

What about 2007 when 'Bleeding Love', 'Rule The World', 'The Heart Never Lies' and 'Gimme More' were released? All opened with more than the usual 30k sales needed for #1 that year, iirc. But I guess that would be for an entirely different thread...

The heartbreaking thing is that Rule the World is one of my favourite songs of the last 10 years and Bleeding Love is so awful.

Other way roond :P

Destiny's Child + Britney both deserved to be no.1 with those songs eh, shame a novelty track kept them off.

I dunno if I can handle all this 'Better Off Alone' negativity! :o I don't think I've ever seen (or heard) a bad word said against it! It's a true classic and it still sounds so fresh even to this day! :(
I'm ambivalent. It's not regarded by a classic by either critics or trance fans. I prefer an instrumental version but it is very rudimentary.
'Better Off Alone' is a good instrumental ruined by extremely offputting vocals. This also applies exactly to 'Play Hard'.

Turn off the radio. Problem solved.

I do. Regularly. I don't put my ears through that.

I couldn't at gym the other day when they played the ONLY good song about Mirrors, Jackson. I was just finishing my thought, Timberlake wishes he could have a song this good, when guess what came on? The EXTENDED EDITION. Followed not long after by it again with the EXTENDED edition. #GAWD. Also, song makes no sense, extended or not.

It's quite ironic how you complain that Justin Timberlake and P!nk are unvoidable on the radio when your complaints about them are unavoidable!

I'd happily take Justin over Michael Jackson anyday.
