'Blurred Lines' really is a monster hit.

When was the last time a non-XF winners single/charity single sold 190k in its first week?

Do you mean actually sold ~190k or just over 190k?

I think the answer for the latter is 'Fight For This Love'.

We've had this discussion a lot of times

Michael Andrews 'Mad World' is your answer, if you don't count that because it was released on Xmas week, then it's Kylie 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.

It's also worth mentioning that Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' sold over 190k, but not on its debut week.

I think this question has been asked more than 190k times this week! it was Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love, if you're excluding ANYTHING relating to XF, then it was Mad World in 2003.

I thought it was 'Fight For This Love'. Wasn't sure though.

Fight For This Love did sell 292k, but if you take out all X Factor/Charity Singles/Xmas Chart Battle Songs then seeing as it wouldn't have sold as much if she didn't perform on TXF/if she wasn't a judge I wouldn't count it.

I personally disagree with ruling this out just due to X Factor exposure (Tulisa says hi.*) because of its high second week sales (138k), in other words, a week or so after the performance - it's not going to be still having an effect and it suggests that its first week sales would probably been at least over 190k even without it. Plus the fact that there's usually always something that will affect a songs sales - it's not as if Can't Get You Out of My Head had nothing to boost its sales. That said, what on Earth has given 'Blurred Lines' such a boost?

No-one explain to me why Tulisa didn't have the same success or whatnot.

Erm, no. If you're excluding anything relating to The X Factor, it would be Gnarls Barkley's Crazy.

What happened to Daniel Merriweather? What is he doing nowadays?

i met his cousin while on a plane from Beirut to istanbul, she said he is living in Australia and has stopped recording for the moment and just doing local gigs... and she kept going on and on about his duet with Adele... thank God it was an hour and a half flight only though...

The last I heard was that he had been in rehab. :(

I think you mean she? :kink:

But that is really sad. :(

No, I was talking about Daniel Merriweather

Oh! I completely misunderstood what Big Mistake said. I knew what you meant!
