That last game literally killed me.

So happy though. All the lucky 7s were right after all (77 years since a British male winner, last British female winner in '77, 7th Slam final for Murray and of course today is 7/7).

Thought he was a goner after the second set in the QFs as well.

Congratulations to Murray!! Fantastic win and very much deserved! :cheer:
The one bad thing is now I'm probably going to have to book a tennis court rather than just strolling onto one. Well for the first three weeks anyway when the mad rush of "OMG someone British has won, let's play their sport" dies down. -_-

Well done Andy Murray. Terrific stuff there. Absorbing match that was. True grit there from Murray.

You need to put a lot of money on to see any real return on that though.
Are they giving him that knighthood then? :D I personally think its a bit too much.. Its just tennis in the end.

Dan Evans has just beaten Bernard Tomic to make the 3rd round of the US Open.

We already have Laura Robson and Andy Murray should get through as well, refreshing to see some British players playing well.

Best case scenario would be for Robson, Evans and Murray to all make 4th round.

If Dan Evans wins in the 3rd round he will likely face Federer in round 4!

Very sad, lovely woman.

Gonna resurrect this after months purely because I've just watched Sharapova vs. Halep in the French Open final. One of the best women's matches I have seen in a long long while, some incredible rallies and so many twists and turns.

Halep is surely going to become a Grand Slam winning player, very impressed by her. [/no1curr]

Pleased for Maria, winning grand slams as far apart as 2004 and 2014, amazing!

Well done to Rafael Nadal on winning his 9th French Open after beating Novak Djokovic in 4 sets.
