Karmin have confirmed on Facebook that their new single will be released very soon, and according to ATRL forums it has apparently been confirmed on Twitter by someone connected to Karmin that 'Acapella' will be released on Monday 10th June and is co-written and produced by Martin Johnson, who also did Avril's 'Here's To Never Growing Up' and Jason Derulo's 'The Other Side'.

I loved 'Brokenhearted' and the 'Hello' EP was really good too, so I'm looking forward to hearing this!

So, so excited for this! 'Hello' EP was fantastic! 'Brokenhearted' deserved better in the charts (although I genuinely cannot believe it got as high as number 2 on our iTunes with little support!

Was it not playlisted by both R1 and Capital though?

Capital probably, R1 no.

Not huge on the new Jason and Avril singles but I loved Brokenhearted so I look forward to hearing this.

I think Capital playlisted it when it went top 10 on iTunes for their "Big Top 40 Countdown". (Could be wrong though)

Here is the song on Karmin's VEVO page:

It is definitely more rap-orientated than pop, but it is still decent!

And here is the artwork:

Well this is disappointing. I was liking it more by the end but it's not the direction I prefer from them at all. The melody is pretty awful.
I must say I really like this, apart from the bit near the end where it sounds like there's a stray cat being strangled... Other than that, fab.

Here is the official lyric video:

Really liking this after a few listens. It's nowhere near as instant as anything from their EP, but once it gets there, it's just as strong, imo.
The song is alright but it's really rather annoying for all its pleasing characteristics (her voice is incredibly grating). I know the sound of the Hello EP wasn't going to take them anywhere but this isn't the right new direction.

I like it - it's fun and I like the lyrics but I question it as a choice for a lead single. I mean, it doesn't have commercial pop smash written all over it like 'brokenhearted' did and it's definitely not as good as any of the songs from the Hello EP. (I still think it's a crime that they never released Walking On The Moon). I think pushing the iTunes release date back to July was a mistake but hopefully Epic have a lot of promo planned for them
