'Stay' is a good song to compare 'Everything Has Changed' to, I'm pretty sure it is still coming for the top 5. The top version will be #10 pretty soon and then it'll have a second version around the top 30 for a while.

 

PSY to #16 :D 'Gangnam Style' has also climbed back to #63, could get its highest position since it left the top 40 this week.

I know that Pink is one of my favourite artists so I may be a little biased but I honestly can't see how anyone can dislike her so intensely. I get not liking JGMAR especially since it has gotten overplayed but Michael. can't seem to be objective about her or JT at all.

 

Is there a particular reason you despise Pink so much?

Didn't mind until she released this album, ESPECIALLY JGMAR . It was ok when she rapped the lyrics, but now? Everyone jumpin on an Adele bandwagon but who an keep up with Adele-style vocals? She was promoted as an anti-Britney Spears type, like Avril, but just like Avril she releases POP songs and is therefore little different to Britney Spears or Christina. She started punk and edgy, so her releasing an album about 'lurrrv' is like the Spice Girls releasing an album about how to be domestic goddesses. But never liked her music/ image, except from So What.

 

Justin Timberlake has always released whiny songs that make no sense to me (see, What Goes Around Comes Around, etc). Mirrors is just a continuation of that theme :P

 

And that's why I have no love for either :P

 

Oh and with Justin seems to me like he built up his career on the back of Britney - 'Ok, I slept with her!' (when her image was still based around chastity, damaging it), 'watch my video with her look-alike!' as she was going through the start of tough times. Completely unfair. Let the music speak for itself (or not) but don't use others.

Ballads became popular again after Adele and people realised they could get big hits from them (look at Hollywood trends for another entertainment comparison). Not everyone can sing ballads well though and have nothing to really sing about in them. Just ends up sounding really ingenuine compared to the heartfelt ones by Adele, or even VB with I.O.U about her family on the VB album.

But Pink has plenty to sing ballads about and also JGMAR is quite heartfelt. I don't particularly find Adele's ballads that heartfelt personally but as for bringing them back, Alicia Keys had already had some success with ballads 6 months before Adele came back on the scene and Bruno Mars was doing them as she came back.

One thing you can't say about P!nk is that her ballads aren't heartfelt. Like I sad before, she had had big hits with ballads lone before Adele came onto the scene.

The fact that P!nk who writes and works on virtually all of her material and is not some robot who gets good songs handed to her like Britney Spears shows you have no idea what you are even talking about. If you don't like her fair enoughm but please do not lump her in with that talentless thing.
