Posted August 23, 200619 yr Beyonce and Jay-Z’s latest effort Déjà Vu looks set to challenge Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie this weekend, after it was released on physical format yesterday. The track, which debuted last Sunday as download-only at 21, is already on course to topple Hips Don’t Lie, which has been on the UK chart for 11 weeks. Other new entries expected to make their mark on the singles rundown this Sunday include Morrissey’s In The Future When All’s Well (Attack/Sanctuary), sales of which are strong after the singer’s performance at V last weekend, and Thom Yorke’s Harrowdown Hill (XL). Justin Timberlake’s Sexyback looks poised to hit the Top 10 by next week, since download-only sales have already this week propelled him into the Top 20. Elsewhere, Hope of the States, Rolling Stones and Taking Back Sunday are likely to enter the Top 40. On the albums chart, the Top 10 is unlikely to change a great deal this weekend with Christina Aguilera maintaining the top slot with Back To Basics (RCA), closely followed by Snow Patrol’s Fiction album Eyes Open. New entries vying for position on the chart this weekend include Outkast’s Idlewild (LaFace/Interscope), Slayer’s Christ Illusion (American Recordings), which coincides with a live show at Reading this weekend, and Young Knives’ Voices Of Animals And Men (Transgressive). August 24, 200619 yr Author OPen for discussion, and Snow Patrol are #1 album :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: IMPORTANT NOTICE Bank Holiday Monday next week, midweeks might be later than usual. Please do not start threads, where are the midweeks next Tuesday, as Mods have authority to remove them.
August 24, 200619 yr Oooh Matt has broken top 10 :o Interesting as Busted's sales tended to drop off towards the end of the week too. And I knew Snow Patrol could do it!!!
August 24, 200619 yr Snow Patrol having a good week on singles and Albums. Well deserved, Chasing cars is a cracking tune.
August 24, 200619 yr I'll be pleased if Snow Patrol can hit the top again, I'm loving Chasing Cars now, it's one of those songs that really grow on you.
August 24, 200619 yr awww, too bad for christina, snow patrol are just bigger album sellers over here!! :D 11 debut #1's worldwide with 'back to basics' so far aint too shabby... :yahoo:
August 24, 200619 yr Back To Basics is a great album, listening to it now! and Paris is another great album, I think people should give it a chance, there are a couple of bad tracks, but plenty of good ones. Basics should stay at number 1 and at least top 10 for Paris!! Edited August 24, 200619 yr by kangarooz
August 24, 200619 yr Author Actually, Beyonce climbs 20 places to #1, I can't remember the last act who actually climbed to #1, from outside the top 10, I think it was DJ Otzi, but it was never confirmed, as the Catalogue No. was different.

August 24, 200619 yr i hope shakira can climb back but cant see it now. though HDL is ahead of Dejavu on itunes as of now. hopefully itll stay that way.
August 24, 200619 yr HDL is well old now. I mean, some of us have been hearing it since last March, that shows you how old it is. 11 weeks on the UK charts, Top 10. It'll still be Top 3 for a few weeks as well, perhaps beating Beyonce next week even. Shakira should be releasing a new single in a few weeks.
August 24, 200619 yr that beyonce song should not be at #1 imo. Beyonce really let her standards slip with this one, trying to make a second ''Crazy In Love'' but falling far short of it and making a reject copy of it. Ring The Alarm should have been the first single, and from what ive heard of the album theres only 1 other song deserving of release. Im not saying this because I want shakira at #1, she's had her time, but that Beyonce song is just plain bad
August 24, 200619 yr Wow, what happened between Tuesday and Wednesday, lol! But, as sab said beyonce is now below shakira on iTunes, so the gap could close, depends on how well beyonce is doing at retail (she most likely will have a better day on Saturday than shakira, but we'll wait and see)!!!! :D
